Cash only or checks but there is an atm inside and does charge. There will be a wait (our wait was 40 min)but it’s worth it for the food and service. The waiter was great as he was prompt, knowledgeable, and offered suggestions. Appetizer was the Ava of stuffed with crab and was very tasty. It is made for 1-2 ppl. The blackened tuna tacos were perfect and tasted more like steak than tuna. The crab meat enchiladas were also very flavorful and were delicious. The margaritas were so so but for 8.50 I wasn’t too miffed about them. They could be better and have this place be at 5 stars.

Great food. Busy place. There is a system for reserving a spot before they open, and don’t mess with the GM/Door Lady. She wants NO nonsense! Sign up, show up with your party complete before they open or you will be stuck outside. The wife said hers was the best shrimp enchilada she has ever had. Dulce De Lecha cheesecake cake was awesome as well.

Long wait, but it was absolutely the best beef fajitas I have ever had. I usually only get chicken because beef is usually fatty and not very tender. When I tell you these beef fajitas were so tender, you didn’t even need a fork, I mean it. The flavor of the beef was spot on as well.

I’ll get the only negative out of the way first. I can’t stand it when restaurants these days are cash only. We actually would have purchased additional items had they taken card. I didn’t feel like using their ATM. I still give the place 5 stars, and that is saying a lot because we are pretty picky about Mexican food. The chips and salsa were excellent. Nice thick chips served warm with salsa that had the perfect amount of spice. The combination beef and chicken fajitas were excellent. Beef was tender and flavorful, same for the chicken. My wife had the enchilada and taco meal and said it was very good. There was a wait to get in but it was well worth it. The waitress was friendly and provided great service.

We had an excellent experience at La Playa! Our waitress, Susan, was the absolute best!! She was so kind and such a delight! I got the crab enchiladas and my husband got the beef enchiladas and they were both SO good! However, later that night, I had the worst stomach ache. I was worried I got food poisoning. That’s the only reason I took off a star. The resturant is family friendly too.

First off… this is a cash only business (they do have an ATM inside with a low $2.50 transaction fee). Outside of that, the food was exceedingly good as far as Mexican eateries go in Port A. The fajitas were on point with very tender skirt steak and sliced chicken breasts. The queso was a blanco white cheese. Guacamole was good. Chips and salsa were also appetizing. There’s limited parking on site, however go toward the next street intersection and you can park at the stadium for free and walk over. Golf carts are also welcome. We would definitely come back again. There was about a 30 minute wait at 8:45 pm so it’s a popular spot.

We have always loved it here. After moving away 6 years ago (Harvey) this was our first meal when we came last week. I had the shrimp enchiladas and my husband had the crab enchiladas. My sister had green chili chicken enchiladas and queso.
