This is one of my favorite places in LA, every time I’m in Hermosa beach or riding the beach bike trail from Santa Monica I come here. Great service, great atmosphere, and great food and drinks at a reasonable price. What more could you ask for?

I had a hankering for some Mexican food and took a look around and found this place just a bit away from the main strip of Hermosa Beach. It’s got a hole in the wall feel to it with its moderate dining area, but it feels so worked and cozy. The staff were incredibly friendly and made you feel welcome. Spanish and English are both welcome and service is great regardless. I got the breakfast burrito and it is decently sized, I was considering getting another item, but between that and the chips and salsa, I was stuffed and everything tasted great. Be sure to swing by if you want a quick and casual place to have some great Mexican food!

Great spot just off the silly-busy pier zone which makes it much easier to enjoy your meal and conversation (if you like that sort of thing). Our server was Enrique and he’s excellent – should give lessons to new servers. Super attentive, friendly, helpful.

This spot is a little gem! Overlooks the beach from a distance, and you can watch the sunset at dinner. Food is good and large quantities. Loved the enchiladas. Lots of chips and salsa, and they gave us plenty of refills. The price is so reasonable. Definitely a great post beach spot.

I’ve been here twice and I highly recommend this one. It is literally on the beach and the outdoor seating is so cute. Both times the food was fabulous and the drinks were too. It also seems like a small business so I’m happy to support.

Don’t come here expecting good food. Come here for the nice view and atmosphere. I got the fish tacos, I wasn’t expecting much but for a place called a Mexican cafe this looked and tasted like something out of taco bell. No flavor to be found on my plate. The only thing I could taste was the tartar sauce.

THIS PLACE IS A HIDDEN GEM!! We came from Chicago and decided to try out this place on a whim. Such GREAT food. The waiter was so amazing, I wish I remembered his name. Great prices too. Even the other people eating were so kind to us. I wish there was a La Playita near me!!! <3
