Tough to find a place that deserves 5 stars all around but this place was impeccable. We visited while walking around town and found this place. Adequate outside seating but plenty of room inside for a nice cool retreat from the sun. Affordable and delicious frozen margaritas – they also serve up their guac with warm pita like chips which was totally new to me! The service felt like we were family and they even comped us a round of tequila shots! This meal secured my sturdiness to walk around and explore for several more hours so of course, I will return!

I made an order online. The food was nasty! I ordered a pork pupusas and quesadilla. It was poor quality and NO MEAT!!!! DO NOT AND I REPEAT DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS TRASH. The so called manager decided to argue with me rather than apologize for the poor quality of the food. Don’t spend a dime unless your looking for trash.

We had a pupusa, chicken fajitas, and a combination plate with the beef enchilada, chicken tamale, and Chile relleno. The food didn’t seem fresh. Frankly, it tasted old and was gross. I was able to eat about 1/3 and then just stopped because I felt nauseous. Servers were not overly welcoming or attentive. I wouldn’t go back. At $60 for two people, I expected a better experience.

I made an order in person. Walk-in I ordered beef nachos. I didn’t check the order the first time. They gave me my order. I walked all the way home and it was a chicken burrito with beans. I called in and told them they made a mistake, I was willing to return the burrito back they said no need just keep it. My second return I came back to the restaurant. I did lift the cover for a moment to make sure it was nachos w/ beef. Upon returning home and starting to eat with my partner I noticed there was no beef. I called in to speak but the person who had been dealing with me. They rebutled back they said I said such and such I was the person whom was wrong. The guy who I was speaking to ended up hanging up in my face. Normally a person would start yelling. I didn’t do such. I kept it calm and collected. I walked back to the restaurant with an extra dollar tip. I had previously tip them $4 extra dollars. The guy who I had been dealing with was sitting with some guest talking with them. I put the tip on the table the $1 tip and I apologized for being mis perseved. He accepted the tip and had a smirk on his face. He then said thank you we will see you again… I don’t think I’ll be returning back to this place.

I grew up on the hill a couple miles away and I’ve been coming here since I had a memory. This is by far my most favorite place to eat in the world. Whenever I come I feel like I’m back at home. All the staff are great and have been here forever. Their steaks and meat are genuinely better than any steakhouse I’ve been to and everything always tastes great. Anyone that’s given any kind of criticism about la plaza probably sucks.

This place was delicious! I got the enchiladas, loved them. The portion was perfect so I didn’t have to carry around leftovers. Great casual lunch dining. At the end of the meal we received complimentary tequila shots, guaranteeing I’ll be back next time I’m in the capital!

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. We ordered fajitas with extra rice and there were maggots in the white rice. It sounds unbelievable, but trust they were all in the container. First and last time ordering from this place. Stay away from here.
