Excellent & delish food, great service (waitress was Bella) but hostess and front desk staff are not very warm and welcoming! We made our reservation 3+ weeks in advance and had a table adjacent to the “walk in” table in the lobby… we will come again but would love some smiles from the La Rocca team!

Every item on this menu is delicious. I could go here every day if i could. I love to give reviews when the food is wonderful and this places food is beyond wonderful it’s magnificent. Montclair has many great places but this place is a wonderfully tucked away corner of pure love and Italian soul food. Don’t mind the chopsticks my mom brings her own every where we go.

Simply a wonderful and absolutely delicious restaurant. The owners and entire staff are lovely. I really dislike when I go out and spend money on mediocre food… at La Rocca, I say “take my money.” The handmade pasta and flavors in all the dishes are so good. Definitely recommend the lasagna (seriously the best I’ve ever had, but not so cheesy so if that is your vibe then maybe it won’t be your favorite, but you’ll still think its fantastic) and the LAMB CHOMPS!! Dessert was perfect 🙂

After making reservations, we were looking forward to a nice pre-concert meal close to the venue. A disappointing start. The hostess seemed confused after we gave her our name for the 5:30 reservation made a few days prior. We were then seated at the most uncomfortable and inappropriate table. There is one table located right in front of the server/runner coffee and water dispensing station. Why there is a table there I will never understand. We asked the manager if we could be seated elsewhere and she was very accommodating and moved us without hesitation. After waiting for 10 minutes, we were finally greeted by our server who supplied us with a menu and water. He then started to tell us about the specials but there were so many, it was impossible to remember them all, and understanding him was very challenging. Kudos to him for regurgitating the entire list but we would have much preferred them printed and provided along with the menu. The food was delivered to the table by a runner and our server was nowhere to be found, so when we requested additional sauce for the lasagna, the runner indicated he would tell our server but that never happened. For an Italian restaurant, they sure are stingy with their sauce, as witnessed by the 2 tablespoons supplied with the calamari.

Been here many times over the years always good food. Still good but service very rushed. My wife and I were finishing our salads, which was very good, when were asked if we were ready for our main course. Asked them to wait because we still were working on our salads. Thirty secs later mains were delivered and salads taken away.

Delicious food, excellent service, friendly atmosphere. We mostly had specials, everything was terrific. We shared the Calamari Friti, the Cavatelli Veal Ragu and the Torta Della Nonna. My friend had the Polipo Ala Griglia and Pollo Limon and the duck special. We were all very pleased.
