This is a restaurant-grocery place selling delicious food! I ordered the Menudo soup for lunch (dine in). It was really delicious and one of the best Menudos in the Durham area. Their corn tortilla was also the best I have ever had. The grocery sells some food items/snacks, beverages, other grocery items, soap detergent, etc. Overall highly recommended! Indoor restaurant seating available.

The food is absolutely incredible. We ended up here for dinner by chance and will without a doubt be coming back! I loved the carnitas taco, the lengua, and the homemade chips and guacamole

My family is from Mexico and these tacos are AMAZING!!! incredibly authentic food and wonderful service! The restaurant is connected to the store and the store also had a great selection of Mexican foods and groceries. If you want delicious Mexican food, the place is a must! Also, the restaurant closes at 7:30pm while the whole store closes at 8pm so plan accordingly.

Disappointment my 1st burrito was delicous. The next (2) orders have been disappointing to many beans that are hard and not cooked properly. The meat is tough with no favorite. I tried (3) times. Good salsa nice and spicy.

Not the quickest, but easily the best taco joint in the neighborhood (yep, better than the cow place). Also a big plus that the attached market offers a TON of drinks (Mexican sodas in glass bottles!) and sides.

One of Durham’s hidden gems, easily one of the top three Latin American restaurants in a town that has lots. Don’t let the exterior fool you, the restaurant inside is large, impeccably clean, and welcoming.

A hidden gem in the Lakewood neighborhood! Coming to La Tiendita II is like teletransporting to Latin America. I got a large baleada with eggs, beans, avocado and cheese, and a cup of instant Nescafe coffee for less than $5. It was exactly what I needed on a rainy Saturday morning in Bull City. In addition, it’s locally-owned by an immigrant family from Guanajuato, México. You’ll likely get to meet José, the owner, who will enthusiastically greet and welcome you. Are you always thinking of how to support immigrants in our community? This is a way. Come visit La Tiendita II!!

My favorite places are those little “hole in the wall” joints where you meet the owner and you get great food because the owner sees the food and service as a reflection of themselves. This is one of those places. You won’t even be able to remember the name of it but you’ll want to come back again and again for the amazing authentic food. SO GOOD! So GOOD!
