Gretchen Hantz is the worst server I have ever encountered, this woman took my info and found me on Facebook! First of all, food is good but the experience was exceptionally poor. Upon ordering, our waitress Gretchen sat down at our booth with a huge sigh. A little weird. Asking what soups she had, she listed them off saying “oh don’t get the shrimp one its disgusting” like um okay. Once we got our salad my friend asked for extra dressing because she didn’t see any on the salad. Gretchen acted like she didnt believe us? I took a bite of my salad and sure enough, no dressing. Once I let her know she stormed to the kitchen and my friend and I could LITERALLY hear her yelling “they said there’s no dressing on their salads!” How unprofessional. It doesn’t stop there, Gretchen the stalker found me on Facebook and got mad that I didn’t leave her a 20% tip. I left her 10% bc not only did we get bad service but she was making us feel very uncomfortable, she had an attitude the whole time. This woman seriously found me on Facebook after taking my name off my debit card, absolutely insane. What other info does she have of mine? Although Jenni was sweet and wanted to fix it, Gretchen Hantz should be fired and I dont think people should go to this restaurant until she is, I won’t be.

I suggest entering through the doors closest to Main St. so you don’t have to wind yourself through the entire restaurant to get to the hostess stand. The hostess was exceptionally friendly, as was our waitress, Cecily. The interior of the bistro is cozy, warm, and nicely decorated, albeit crammed with too many tables and people.

La Vita Bistro is our absolute favorite place in Pinckney. Everything I have tried is delicious and the service is always fantastic. The duck and gnocchi is my favorite entree, and the calamari is an amazing appetizer! They have an excellent beer/wine menu with reasonable prices. Every time we go I see the owner walking around checking on every table, making sure everyone is enjoying their meals. We are so lucky to have such a wonderful local gem!

Great atmosphere and super friendly staff makes this a favorite place for me. Some of the dishes are mediocre, but some are outstanding, like the calamari and spicy bowtie pasta. Great bar menu too! I am really glad we have a place like this in our small town.

Went there for Father’s Day as I am gluten free and found a good review on Find Me Gluten free app. The food was very good! I got a steak, red potatoes and asparagus. And I did NOT get sick. It’s a very pretty restaurant and the staff are very attentive and communicate allergies very well to the kitchen. I’m always a bit scared going into a new restaurant but no worries now! My dad got one of their large salads with chicken and loved it. Sorry we were so under dressed from hiking!

Over a year ago my husband and I had a horrible experience,not the food, it was the server. Even though we love the food we had not been back. On Sunday we returned with my niece for her birthday.
