Been wanting to visit Lagniappe Bayou Kitchen for a while after seeing it on Google but hadn’t been able to do so. However, it was WELL worth the wait as the true hidden gem that it is, and so much so, that we plan to be regulars driving well across town just for it.

Let me just start by saying this is a hidden Gem!!!! The atmosphere is quaint and cozy. I was greeted by Amanda upon arrival. She was really nice and inviting. I ordered the Mother of all Grits with Gouda cheese and fried catfish instead of blackened. It was delicious!!! I also had a bowl of the chicken and sausage gumbo. It came with fresh French bread. It was just ok. I felt like it was missing something. My daughter ordered the patty melt. It was delicious!!!!! The crab cakes are Amazing!!! The crab claws are a must have. The garlic dipping butter was out of this world! I will definitely be back soon.

Birthday dinner of Shrimp & Grits was excellent!! The chef/owner was engaging, gave us excellent options for gluten-free options! The food was hot, fresh and filling! The Dessert case was a beautiful thing to behold the night we were there! The restaurant was clean & the decor is fun. I’m looking forward to stopping early in the day for some hot fresh coffee! We’ll be back!

Nola feel in Nashville! I don’t know where to start.. the atmosphere was very nice, we were welcomed with open arms as soon as we walked through the door. The restaurant is on the smaller side and has opened seating, it was nicely decorated, definitely gives Nola vibes which I love! We were given menus to look over, we then had to go up to order. I reviewed the menu ahead of time, I saw that they had crab claws and was sold, that did it for me! I ordered the crab claws and fried okra for an appetizer, both 10/10. The okra was fried to perfection and seasoned well, the crab claws were blacked and full of flavor, I literally couldn’t get enough! I also ordered the BBQ shrimp dish that I had several times during a trip to Nola. Now I will say, this dish was a little different, I remembered this dish having more of a cream sauce base. Theirs was more like a scampi butter, it was loaded with so much butter/oil and all of the seasoning was settled at the bottom of the dish. I literally had to fish the shrimp out and eat them on the side, no way I could live with myself eating that. The shrimp was delicious and very flavorful though. My husband had catfish, grits and greens. All very delicious! The greens did taste like they were from a can, but they dressed them up very well, nothing a little hot sauce can’t fix! My Mom had a Cajun salad that she enjoyed. All in all this is going on my “must go to” list when we’re back in Nashville for sure!! There are several other things on the menu that I would like to try!

I so wished the food would be better especially for the price. Service was great and the decor fantastic. Building is kinda in middle of nowhere but they sure did a fantastic job decorating and creating a very nice space. Shrimp and grits were fantastic. Smokehouse burger was also delicious, especially the fries. Poboys could use a better bread but the fillings were delicious and very well fried. Jambalaya was the worst dish and lacked flavor. Dusted my beigneys with raw AP flower so i had to tell them that… yuck! Not sure if I’ll be back.

My husband and I stopped in for lunch today and thought since we are new to town and live so close, why not give it a try.

If you’re thinking about stopping here from out of town for some cajun food, I would pass. It was mediocre.

Took a little road trip to Goodlettsville to visit Lagniappe Bayou Kitchen…been following them for several months now. On their FB feed yesterday they advertised Beef Tenderloin Stroganoff as the Sunday Special, this one of my favorite “comfort food” dishes. I was greeted by Cassie who went over how things worked there and told me a bit about the place. I went with the Cajun Seafood Gumbo (shrimp and crab) along with the Beef Tenderloin Stroganoff. The Gumbo had wonderful base flavor and a heat that kinda sneaks up on you but not overly hot. Plenty of seafood in the mix and LOVED the crusty French Bread for dipping into the broth. The Beef Tenderloin Stroganoff…some of the best I’ve had in quite a long time. The tenderloin was plentiful and extremely tender (no knife needed) while the cavatappi pasta was perfectly Al dente and a great compliment to capture and hold the sauce. The mushrooms were nicely cooked but still maintained their bite, the onions were perfectly caramelized, and the sauce…WOW. The sauce for this dish is exceptional and really sets it apart…rich, beefy, creamy, and pleasingly satisfying. I know this was the Sunday Special…so I recommend following their FB Page for the next time it is available. The menu has some really great Cajun dishes…I’m thinking Crawfish Etouffee and a slab of fried Redfish on top???
