Absolutely great food! I spoke with the owner about the current situation. She refuses to open for dining anytime soon because she will not take a chance on the virus. They are taking great precautions despite being worried about the amount of business. I loved the food. Great portions. Well worth the money. I don’t live in Douglas, but will stop at Lai Lai when I’m there!

Quality of the food is almost always good, hours are sketchy and you can never tell if they are going to be open or not, portions are getting smaller but inflation is hitting everyone, Loraine works hard to make it good but it’s been tough!

Was a little disappointed, been going there for 25 yrs but this time even though the food was good, you get less. I know the price of things have gone up, so raise the price don’t give less food. Also the sweet and sour chicken used to be big chunks now it’s little tiny strips hardly any chicken with breading that’s put on it.

Lai Lai is a gloriously tasty no-frills Chinese-American restaurant that has been serving Douglas for almost 30 years now. The rice and lo mein are the best of the best out there, bar none. They are infused with a magnificent, wok seared flavor, wok hei, if you will. It’s a character that is absent in the food of most other restaurants in the entire state.

Remember to tip. The lady is just too gracious to want to accept it. The food is good. We order frequently for takeout. Always have to leave the pay and run before the gracious owner tries to return my tip as my change.
