I’ve lived in JC for 5years and recently discovered this place by accident which is 5mins drive from my house. The experience was great, the service was excellent and quick, the long time patrons are like family to the staff. They provide you with a shared house salad and bread before we ordered. For starters we shared eggplant rotallinni and for dinner we had lobster ravioli, shrimp scampi over linguine. Whit wines were our choice of drinks; Sauvigon Blanc and Pinot. Dessert was on point. The tiramasu was exactly how I like it with a cup of cafe and my love had Italian cheesecake which was also good. Our meals were affordable and had the perfect ambiance for date night. Small parking lot but there is also street parking. I saw a sign for Valet parking but did not inquire.

The 1st place I ever took my wife too almost 20 years ago and it did not disappoint again. Took the family here for Mother’s day and everything was perfect. Everybody loved the food and drinks. Thanks again Laico’s for still having it

Went to Laico’s for the first time with friends last night and the Italian food was oh so good! From the beginning with bread and salad to the end with New York cheesecake and coffee, it was very enjoyable. Would definitely go back and is a great recommendation for an Italian restaurant in NJ

I don’t do reviews often and honestly it took me a couple of days to even decide to make this one, but this experience was downright awful.

This place is wild, in the middle of a residential block. Italian restaurant in a black and Filipino neighborhood. It has no business being there. My son didn’t like his soup (which was delicious) and the waiter yelled at me as we were leaving “you tell me next time and we bring him something he likes”. Good people, good food, happy workers, deep tradition. FYI don’t ask for recommendations, you will get a half hour speech about how everything on the menu is fresh and good and you can’t go wrong, and blah blah blah and they are 100% correct

An experience from the ’80’s, down to the Sinatra medley playing nonstop. Food is good but not fine dining quality, what one would expect in a good home kitchen. Dining area is dated and some folding chairs are at the regular tables, not a good look. It can get busy but arriving after 8 pm is less stressful. In amidst a residential neighborhood, valet parking is good but the street is tight.

Been going here over 40 years….Simply the best…Broiled scallop special just “melted in my mouth”. Shrimp Scampi is to die for. Some great appetizers also. Parking can be difficult during peak hours. Drop off your party if you can and park up to 2 blocks away. Very small valet parking available but it’s only about 6 spots.

I’ve been dining here over 35 years and I always like to sit in the back area. The waitress in the back is the best waitress I’ve ever had there. She’s superb and truly goes beyond the call of duty. She supercedes the bartender, hostess and all other waiters. A waitress like her are hard to come by these days and Laico’s should be proud to have such a stand out member of their staff.

Best fried calamari in Jersey City (spicy calamari) by far and a few other items on the menu for sure. Great service. Low key spot Italian American spot without hipsters thank god almighty lol.
