Lou Malnati got his start in the 1940’s working in Chicago’s first deep dish pizzeria. He took his pizza expertise to Lincolnwood, a northern suburb of Chicago, where he and his wife Jean opened the first Lou Malnati’s Pizzeria on March 17, 1971. Lou was known for his fun-loving character as well as making Chicago’s best pizza. Loyal patrons lined the streets on opening day for a taste of his delicious deep dish creations. Lou always thought it was funny that an Italian should open a pizzeria in a Jewish neighborhood on an Irish holiday.

Ordered online for carry out and the order was ready on time – probably spent less than 5 minutes parking and getting the order. Staff were pleasant and efficient as well. The pizza was great but as other reviews have mentioned, a bit on the greasy side. Definitely expensive compared to other pizza places but considering the large size pizza + wings set was enough for 3 meals (for two people), I don’t think the price is too bad. As a side note, although it’s not Lou Malnati’s fault, there were a lot of drivers with poor etiquette in the parking lot and walking back to my car with the order was kind of scary. I’m assuming it was a lot of parents picking up what I presume to be their kids from a dance class (?) in the establishment next door.

Took my son for pizza after graduation from book camp. We didn’t have time to drive to the sit down, but we managed to get a table from the restaurant next door. We enjoyed our pizza on the patio. It was way too big to finish, so we have leftovers. Thanks to whoever told us to try it out.

Loumalnatis is a great pizza chain. Don’t sleep on it. I think this location has poor service and maybe cooks. I beg you to go to a higher rated location.

My husband has heard nothing but good things about this place. Unfortunately, we both agreed that the deep dish was not what it was worked up to be. So much grease sitting on top, the crust taste like cardboard, sauce had no flavor. The sausage carried the pizza and wasn’t even that great either. Would not recommend! We loved the Buffalo wings tho.

Good, but not great, deep dish pizza. None of it was very flavorful other than the sausage. The cheese, sauce, and crust were kind of bland. I expected better from a $20 small pizza, even deep dish.

It is an ok pizzeria. I feel as though it was a bit pricey to make your own pizza and the booths were tight. My children found the loud atmosphere hard on their ears at times. The menue was also small and could have more pizza toppings. I had the deep dish pizza with butter bread. It was alright. Besides pizza not many choices but soup and several types of salad. It did have some handicap parking outside. Restrooms were a bit tight.

Order on-line, pick it up right on time. Excellent deep dish Pizza, maybe the best. Plenty of toppings, I love the tomato sauce, very fresh tasting. Staff is very pleasant and organized. I always over buy. A small really is enough for two good eaters. This is a must every time I’m in town.
