We took the trip to Oconomowoc for an errand this morning, so we decided to stop for breakfast. Lake House did NOT disappoint — it’s the best breakfast place we’ve been to for a long time! The Loco Breakfast burrito, with chorizo, sausage, and bacon with scrambled eyes and grilled peppers, was great. It came with delicious sour cream and salsa The eggs Benedict came with crispy potatoes and sausage, and my wife was impressed with the hollandaise sauce even though she doesn’t normally eat eggs Don’t let the location — a former Arby’s — fool you. It’s worth the trip!

We were aware of this place for awhile but didn’t stop to eat till now. Pleasantly surprised, the interior felt a little outdated, but not terrible. That’s my only negative though, the staff was friendly and attentive. Our server was a very nice, my husband asked for recommendations and he gladly talked about the menu and what he really thought was best.

I had a delightful experience at Lakehouse Cafe today when I visited around 1:30. I decided to try the lunch special, which included the Beer Cheese Soup and a Hot Ham and Cheese Sandwich. The soup was a standout with a unique twist – they used popcorn as croutons, which added a delightful crunch.

We’ve been on a road trip, sampling local cafes as we go. Lakehouse was easily the best out of five places – because the little things were done well! The hash browns were actually crispy. The over easy eggs were cooked correctly. The ham was tender and not dried out. The waitress made a smiley face with whipped cream on kiddo’s waffle. Highly recommend!

They have large portions but the food was not good. My husband had a hamburger and it tasted awful. I’m hoping he doesn’t get sick. I spit it out when I tried it. My chicken fajita wrap was better but I didn’t eat the chicken because it also tasted old. I liked the wrap they used and the vegetables in the wrap. The French fries are yummy. The waiter was ok. The hostess was very friendly .

Great food – nice surprise! Had lunch here for the first time. The Greek Wrap is delicious. I ordered extra Gyros meat on the side. Just a little crispy – perfect! Daughter had a Belgian Waffle with strawberries and whipped cream. She also commented on how good the food was. Convenient check out right from the table with waitress portable charge/debit machine – hand held.

Very happy for the Owner’s success. Additional breakfast options in Oconomowoc are welcomed and this place delivers! Similar the the famed Lumber Inn in Delafield with a shorter wait on a weekend morning. This will no doubt change as the word continues to spread. The location is in a former fast food restaurant, but do not let that deter you. Cafe atmosphere with excellent seating and beautiful tables. My lumberjack skillet was top notch and the toast was thick and appeared homemade. Get there and support this business today.
