Lake Theater & Cafe began its life as a single-screen neighborhood cinema back in 1940. It has weathered its storms over the decades: in the 80s, the roof caving in was solved by splitting the venue into 2 auditoriums; in 1996, Lake Oswego flooded over and the business changed hands to its current owner; and in 2014, it received a total facelift, a kitchen, and a patio.
Much of our produce is grown and harvested on Happy Apple Farm in Oregon City, and every other ingredient on the menu is as local and sustainable as can be, from scratch when possible. Our business is certified a Leader in Sustainability by the county and we take the environment, and our future, seriously.
But we don’t take ourselves too seriously, and neither should you.
Intimate venue offering 2 theaters for films & music, plus creative American food & patio seating. Based on 409 reviews, the restaurant has received a rating of 4.5 stars. Price

Great venue. Sadly I had to leave unexpectedly and couldn’t stay for the movie or dinner. Great staff, and I’m sure the food is delicious and fresh. Can’t wait to visit better.

Had a delightful dinner on the lake. It was a great way to enjoy the last few days of summer.

5 stars is everything. I’ve always loved things here and still do. This is a pizza review. The cheese pizza is super tasty and worth the try. It’s a little small for two people but still worth the drive. Start with the cheese before going to crazy toppings. You will not be disappointed.

My son and I both just live this place. It’s basically an amazing restaurant that shows movies. Everything about the movie part is wonderful. The folks who work here are really friendly. the food is just incredible.

This restaurant and movie theater establishment is a unique experience for a date night. My girlfriend and I watched a movie then had dinner seated on the back deck overlooking the lake. The sun setting over the lake with the crimson red sky was a lovely sight. I ordered the hamburger with no buns. The hamburger itself was pretty dry and the patties were quite thin. So that wasn’t a wowing moment but the service was efficient and the fries were quite good. The hummus appetizer we took into the theater was good with thin tasty flat bread.

Woodfired pizza was fantastic. The service was great. Movie theater cute. A little bit of sensory overload. Maybe too many people in a small space?

The theatre is clean, the food is very good, but the seats are a little uncomfortable upstairs. There needs to be more leg room. Overall it’s a great experience. The restrooms are clean and the staff are very friendly.

Decent food (we had the blackened rockfish), good beer selection and great view with outdoor lakefront seating.

It’s a small movie theater with 2 screens. The balcony has original theater seats. Downstairs main theater has patio tables and chairs. Chairs are netting material and were fine for a 2 hour movie. Only had appetizers which would good. Other food we saw coming out looked great, but didn’t try any personally. Small, intimate theater, I liked it. Tickets were available online and more affordable than the chains.

A modern version of the small town movie theater. Nice screen and good seats in a cool local place. Dinner options were so good you could come here for just dinner. Instead stay for a movie or eat dinner while watching a movie. Great beer/wine/cocktail selection. You can even get popcorn and candy like everywhere else.
