Went for brunch on the recommendation of a good friend while my best friend was visiting. The restaurant is an old house redesigned into the restaurant. It’s beautiful, it has history, it adds to the overall theme of food served. The food is delicious and served in a timely manner, our waitress was kind and professional. There is plenty of close parking and lots of places to visit after lunch as well!

The food and service were excellent. Do yourself a favor and order the biscuits! The LaLou style grits were a very tasty side to my scramble.

Amazing food! This place is located in a residential neighborhood with street parking and a nearby parking lot. We had about a 10 minute wait to be seated on a Saturday morning. We wanted to buy a Deneen Pottery mug but the owner told us she didn’t have any to sell us….. bummed out. Our server today (can’t recall her name) was very pleasant and efficient. I wish this place were closer to where we live in Minnesota it was that good!

Came in with my family to try to get a table. There was no host by the door. We waited patiently and after a few minutes, I asked a waitress if there was a host. She said they would be with us shortly. After presumably everyone working there walked by us, not acknowledging our presence, I asked another waiter if someone was coming to seat us. They said not yet and offered us chairs by the host station. We left and went to The Beach House and enjoyed a great lunch.

We’ve been to Lalou a few times, but today the service was the best ever. I hate that I can’t remember the name of our server, but she was amazing, the food was amazing, and the chocolate milk impressed my kids. They said it was so fancy, and their new favorite. The biscuits were perfect, as well as the blackberries served with them. Everything was just delicious!

An old converted house sets a charming atmosphere, and the wide array of options on the menu, featuring both classics and many unique dishes, makes this place a keeper. For brunch, it was hard to decide whether to go the sweet or savory route! Opted for the Redfish Benedict, one of the many takes on Eggs Benedict, cooked perfectly. The potatoes were baked instead of fried (fryer was out of order this morning), and I thoroughly enjoyed this alternative. The staff kept the coffee coming and gave us kind, attentive service. As an out-of-town visitor, I highly recommend LaLou and hope I get to come back and try some of the sweet treats some day!

I make a stop every time I visit the north shore! My boyfriends family lives here and I look forward each trip to this delicious, unmatched brunch food. My favorite items are: all of the Benedict’s, jambalaya pasta, lemon ricotta pancakes, French toast, and the best chocolate milk in the world. I have yet to try something I don’t love! I’ve been about eight times, so I’m still working my way through the menu. Love LaLou!
