Amazing food and service. This is a take out review. It was my first time coming here, but wow I will be coming back. At the restaurant , you get to pick to style of noodle preparation you want as well as the size/type of noodle. All the noodles are made fresh! The dry mixed noodle was medium spicy and the flavor was robust and made you wanting more. Additionally, both dishes we ordered were large enough to be shared and we still have leftovers! Can’t wait to try more of the different types and styles of noodles.

hand made noodles on the spot. very fresh noodle varieties with good texture paired with different soups or dry mix. the noodles are difficult to share though cuz it’s actually one very long noodle in a bowl. a little strange but makes for a great dish when celebrating birthdays… longevity noodles. the apps are my favorite, good quantities and good flavors.

Love this location – much newer and a lot less crowded than the original in Arcadia. Usually no wait/line, and food is served pretty quickly. I’ve only tried their noodle soups, so can’t really speak to anything else on the menu. But the broth is so good (the chili oil gives it a bit of a kick), and I love that they don’t skimp out on the meat. Would recommend getting at least mild spice, because the first time I ate here, I opted for no spice and it was super bland. I gave 4 stars because, although the bowls look big, I feel like they don’t give that much noodles. Also, I feel like the noodles don’t absorb the flavor of the broth very well for some reason. The texture also doesn’t hold up very well after sitting in the soup for a while! Personally, I think hand-pulled noodles are better dry. Other than that, I have no complaints. Their other dishes look good, so maybe I’ll come back and try those someday.

Great spot for Lan Zhou noodles, the service was great and the food was good as well. Tastes just like authentic Lan Zhou noodles.

Spicy noodle broth was TOO spicy (even though we got mild) and not flavorful. The homemade flat noodle was neat and good. Will give it another try.

Came in for my sister in law birthday celebration. We were seated right away and thankful that the ac was on full Blas because it was hot outside. You can customize your noodle size to your liking whether its round or flat. You can also adjust the spiciness of the broth but basically they just add more chili oil to your bowl. I think it’s Mala based so it will numb your tongue momentarily.

I was born in Lanzhou (origin of this restaurant), but grew up in the states. We stopped here during our trip to LA with fairly high hopes. The owner is actually from a city near Lanzhou (where the beef noodles are famous throughout the rest of China). You can definitely tell the hand-pulled noodles are well made. The broth is fairly different from what you’d taste in Lanzhou proper though; it tastes more like tourist restaurants you’d visit in other parts of China which try to replicate the original thing but kind of lack the strong flavors. It’s not a bad thing, but if you have been to Lanzhou, you’ll definitely notice the stark difference. All the side dishes were similar — you can tell they’re Lanzhou inspired, but again, very different. The staff were very friendly. There was ample parking, and it’s right next to a Mariott hotel.

Service service service! I ordered takeout but still felt how much they thought about service. Addressed me as soon as I walked in. Checked on me while I waited and made sure I knew my order was coming up shortly. There was a minor language barrier, but easily resolved with pictures in the menu and again, no attitude or frustration. Why is this such a big deal to me? Well Asian restaurants are not really known for service, that’s why.

I ordered the smashed cucumbers and braised beef noodle soup with wide flat noodles (mild). There’s a tiny hint of mala in the noodles but it’s light and bearable (I don’t like mala.). Some of the beef chunks in the noodles were tough. One piece was especially dry that I considered spitting it out. The other chunks of beef were good though. I really liked the wide flat noodles. The smashed cucumbers were refreshing. I will be going back to try other things on their menu!

The noodles themselves are excellent; firm and chewy. I ordered the scallion oil noodles and it was an okay dish. The sauce was average and it was the quality of the noodles that saved the dish from being a disappointment.
