This is a very famous single-vineyard Cab. It’s dry and fairly tannic, with blackberry, cherry and tobacco flavors that finish spicy and seemingly sweet. This wine needs someone who appreciates big tannic wines, someone who will enjoy it with our Steak Bercy or other red meat entrée.

This effervescent, fragrant, seductive wine displays gorgeous peach, pineapple, and pear notes with light-bodied fruit. Made with 100% Moscato grapes, it has high acidity, which balances its sweetness.

Korbel Brut, California, NV
Lovely floral aromas lead the way in this sparkler, followed by a medley of tangy grapefruit, lemon, pear, and mineral flavors.
$30.00
Domaine Chandon, Brut, California, NV
A wonderful sparkling wine that is complex and delicious. It has flavors of pear and citrus, with a lovely lemon blossom scent on the finish.
$56.00
Moet And Chandon Dom Perignon Vintage ’06
Dom Pérignon is always a vintage champagne, meaning that it is not made in weak years, and all grapes used to make the wine were harvested in the same year. Dom Pérignon is always an assemblage of 50% Pinot noir and 50% Chardonnay, although the final composition changes every vintage: at times a blend in perfectly equal proportions (e.g. 1990 Rosé), at times up to 60% Chardonnay or 60% Pinot noir. Truly one of the classic vintage champagnes you can enjoy. Limited quantity.

We’ve been to the Rittenhouse Inn for many years, it’s been part of our annual trip to Madeline Island and I’ve recommended them to many friends. I was surprised when my friend, who was in Bayfield last month, said she was very disappointed with the meal. After last night, I am no longer surprised. First, the menu is far less complex than in years past; I was disappointed in the lack of creativity and range (again, compared to past years). Both of us “settled” for the surf and turf. While we waited, we were entertained by a fellow diner giving detailed feedback to the server about everthing wrong with his meal (he wasn’t mean or rude at all-in fact, he would always preface his remarks by first stating how good it tasted-and then offering 5 minutes of very specific critique). Our server then told us that the kitchen was behind (there were maybe 10 couples in the entire space), later she relayed to us that the chef was concerned that our steaks were not done enough (even though we specifically stated we prefered them under-cooked) and so he was “cooking them further” under the heat lamps. Not sure what that accomplished for the ribeye, but it completely destroyed the shrimp, asparagus, mashed potatoes and the light cream dipping sauce. While the staff is wonderful and the location ideal, I think there’s a serious issue in the kitchen that needs to be resolved.

These stars solely go towards our phenomenal server Jack as well as the kitchen staff. Our food was delicious and Jack was incredibly kind and helpful! He even came to check on us outside while waiting for our table after our set reservation time as opposed to the underdressed hostess. The restaurant itself, however, was outdated, crowded, and disappointing for its reputation. We were celebrating my parent’s 50th anniversary (which was made note of upon making the reservation), and no special accommodations were made, despite noticing an empty bottle of wine outside with a note that said “happy anniversary” for a previous party. Further, the party we were sat strikingly close to (friends of another server) was extremely loud, intoxicated, and conversing about a topic that was extremely upsetting. I strongly recommend requesting Jack as your server, otherwise, I would not recommend this restaurant during your visit to Bayfield.

Don’t eat here. We tried out this restaurant as my ONE fancy meal for my 30th birthday vacation getaway. The pictures looked amazing so I was excited. I have travelled around the world and this is the worst steak I have ever had. My meal of surf and turf was around $45 so I was expecting quality. Both of our steaks were CHARD, like burnt to a crisp. It was gross. My boyfriends was supposed to be well done- it was burnt on the outside and red in the middle. I was also not sure if we were eating boxed mashed potato’s or not.. For that price it was a major disappointment. I figured because of COVID and people not being able to find works, the cook is probably inexperienced but I still don’t find this as an excuse for that price- the owner should really consider ways to fix this. The atmosphere was beautiful and the serve was great. As a foodie tho, I would not go here again. I don’t like to be “that person” but as the one fancy meal we had on our 4 day vacation for my birthday I had to. I mentioned this to the server and she gave us $20 off. Still, we paid around $100 and nothing was worth it except my boyfriends bourbon cocktail. I would NOT recommend.

4 of us dined here on a Sunday night. Our server was riendly and attentive. Entrees were delicisious for all 4 of us. Two friends had a whitefish dinner and found it tasty. The third friend had the chicken picatta and liked it very mush. I had the Rittenhouse chop and it was tender and flavorful. Portion size for the chicken and chop entrees were large–we were able to have a seond meal with both. I was impressed overall and plan to return again to try some of the other menu items.

The food at the Inn is delicious. Our server was very friendly and helpful. We started off with the Crostini and Moscato. For the main entree we ordered the Linguini Del Mar and Seared Duck and the food was exceptional. But the star of this dinner was the creme brûlée and we will definitely be back for the food. We were just disappointed that we were unable to book a room at the inn to get the entire experience and next time we’ll get book the room in advance to have the entire experience. I would definitely recommend my friends to visit the inn as it had a homey feeling with 5-star dining experience.
