I SLAY ALL DAY TRAVEL The Solo Traveler
This place is black owned and with that being said a rare jewel in DC! It has great drinks and the food is a drinkers paradise. This place is vertically integrated (owns the building) and one of the only spots without gentrification in DC. The bartender lover is the greatest bartender they have here.

I’ve been here three times. The have decent happy hour specials. But Overall, I didn’t like my food. Tried the jerk wings, crab cake and The oxtail dinner. The oxtails were $26 total, which is crazy overpriced. My food looked nothing like the dish online. It also didn’t taste well. When I had the jerk chicken it wasn’t good either. I wanted to support throw place because it’s black owned but they really have to step up their service and the quality and consistency of their food.

This is a hidden gem in DC. The place is small, but they do have an upstairs i have never been too. The people are friendly and it feels like your local bar with that friendly atmosphere. Shout out to the bartenders who make good drinks and are very informative about the drinks and menu options. We have added this place in rotation to out hang outs.

Found this place on UberEats. They actually have a Caribbean Restaurant pop up there. It’s good. It’s gives a neighborhood vibe. Don’t judge a book by its cover. Didn’t get a chance to go upstairs but there’s an upstairs area too.

Where do I start. The bartenders are super friendly. It goes downhill from there. I had to change my order three times because the kitchen was out off almost everything. They were out of chicken wings for goodness sakes. I ordered a mixed drink and had the same problem. They did not have the liquor they needed. If I went back I would stick to beer and snacks. Do not go expecting a full meal.

Went here on Saturday. The food and staff was excellent. Usif our waiter was great and very tentative. We ordered the Fried chicken wings, oxtails and salmon and grits. Best salmon cakes and grits I ever tasted. We were just in awe on how great all the food was that we asked to meet the chef to tell her personally and thank her for such a wonderful meal. We will definitely be coming back here. Truly a hidden gem!!

Local dive bar, there are no strangers here. Great spot to unwind and chill after a long day at the office. The bartenders are very nice and personable, able to make any type of drink you would request. The food can be a hit or miss depending on who’s in the kitchen. The jerk wings are a good bet, they are very flavorful with the right heat. I usually order oxtails which are pretty tasty. Eat, drink, relax and enjoy at Langston.

My friend and I had the oxtails, ribs, mac and cheese and green beans. Everything was very presentable, aromatic and flavorful. Veggies were cooked perfectly with vibrant colors. With both dishes the meat was exceptionally tender and very juicy. The area itself was pretty small and narrow however the atmosphere is welcoming, relaxing and casual. We both had the pleasure of meeting the owner and bartender who were very pleasant and attentive. I give this place 4 out of 5 stars because unfortunately there is some work that needs to be done as far as repairs and renovations due to a previous fire I’ve been told. Overall I would surely come back and dine again.

Whenever a new restaurant pops up, you have your reservations about it. Hence, when I found out that I was going to a non chained restaurant, I was hesitant. Never heard of this place but I went any way. And SO glad I did. The food is amazing. This place is one of those places were you can actually go on a date or double date and enjoy the atmosphere and the company of whom you are with. From the moment we open the doors, we were greeted. From the moment we ordered, we were asked ” Is everything ok?” Great customer service and great food and the interaction that you experience with the owner is a thing of the past but has been brought back to life with this establishment. I can see this in restaurant becoming more than what it is and I wish the owner God speed and much success.
