My husband and sons worked in the area, and decided to eat at this establishment. The first day they ate here they said the food was so great. My husband couldn’t wait to take me there to try. The second day of work My husband had something to take care of during lunch break, so our sons decided to go back there to eat again. Their experience was nothing like the first day. They sat down and waited patiently for someone to take their food order, but no one ever came. They ended up having to get up, and just find somewhere else to eat. So now, when these guys are in Ashley to do jobs, which is often, they will not be going back here. It’s unfortunate when staff runs people off with their rudness, because we really enjoy supporting small businesses such as this.

Food was delicious, the wait staff was respectful, even with our service dog! The price of the food was pretty reasonable but be warned, the drinks are not included in ur meal oh, the salad bar is looooaaaaaded lol. Very very nice salad bar. Was impressed!!

So our plane from Punta Gorda, Fl landed at Mid-America Airport at 7:30am yesterday and on our way home from Spring Training 2020 (go Cards!) at 8:30am we stopped at the Lantern Pub in Ashley,il for food and they had ready to eat from the most amazing salad bar we have ever seen. EVER SEEN EVER. It’s worth the 1/2 hour drive from Mt.Vernon,Il if you love salads. It comes with a soup of the day. Yesterday’s soup was chicken noodle. And no they didn’t comp me for this review.

Good food and very reasonable on price. $12 all you can eat fried chicken with a salad bar on Sunday. Apparently they are famous for their Pie, They didn’t have the pie or pies we wanted. So I’m assuming they are so good they were out of pie like they said or we we’re not from this small town and got treated differently. I’m hoping the former. because of the lack of waitress coming by an asking if we needed anything was a little rough. Little did this place know we do actually own property near by. Curious how my next visit goes

The pub, has amazing food. One of the best examples of a small town restaraunt/diner/bar type thing you could expect to find. Packed around dinner tome on Sundays. I got the catfish and it was fantastic. I’ve had the tacos before on Tuesday as well and they are also amazing. Well stocked salad bar, me and my girlfriend have gone in before at lunch just to enjoy the salad bar. Highly recommend to anyone who hasn’t tried it yet.
