Very clean, great atmosphere, delicious food. This is our new favorite Chinese restaurant we will eat at from now on. My wife had Chicken with mixed vegetables, I had General Cho Chicken. We shared pork soup dumplings that were excellent. The steamed rice is perfect and tasty. Lunch goes to 3 pm. They are very nice and a newly opened restaurant that has amazing tasty food, full bar, and is very close to the Medical area downtown Houston. I will continue to add new pictures when we try different food here. Wow, the Sze Chuan Shrimp is the best that i have tasted in years. Fried Shrimp.

Short read: Long way to go to live up to the reputation of the flagship Chicago locations. Food is very Americanized and overly sweet.

Went on my lunch break. The lunch menu is very reasonably priced for the area. I got the General Tso’s chicken, had good flavor, the egg roll was great, and the rice was cooked properly. Portion was just right, not too much or too little. The restaurant was very clean and had a calm atmosphere.

Amazing experience – food and service! Got takeout from this place. Food was delicious – fresh, flavorful, and not too heavy which was very nice! (Only thing I didn’t really care for was corn in the egg drop soup, I’m from the Midwest I appreciate corn just not in my soup lol, but everything else good!) They were so nice, friendly, and welcoming. They have photos and articles posting about how it’s one of the top Chicago restaurants and I can see it being one of the top in Houston now from its friendly service, clean and modern interior, and solid food. They even threw in a egg dip soup for no reason and I was craving so they also read minds too :’) try this place for your next Chinese craving! Thank you to the man in Dior sneakers who helped me and made my experience wonderful 🙂

We have been in many Lao Sze Chuan locations in Houston and Chicago. This is a new location at the heart of Houston. Food is good as always but they have many dishes that other locations don’t have it like the Lychee Squirrel Fish, pumpkin soup, octopus salad. We came in Sunday night they’re kind of shorted staff so they wait is a little bit long but it’s ok, we understand that. At the time we came they dont have the license for alcohol served but they said they will have it soon.

A great new addition to the neighborhood. Good, authentic szechuan food, and perhaps the best location of the local franchise. Fast and friendly service, as well as a clean and modern atmosphere. The smoked black tea duck was a must-try and did not disappoint! It reminded me of peking duck, but with smoky flavor and steam buns instead of pancakes. We will be back!

Went here on a Monday night for dinner. The place was almost empty with the exception of three other diners, so we got a table instantly.

We got the chance to go to Lao Sze Chuan and really liked it. It seems to be more authentic Chinese food with some of the ameri-chinese food on the menu.

Upon entering Lao Sze Chuan, one can immediately sense the potential for a grand culinary experience, given the ambiance and aroma. The high point of our visit was undoubtedly the food. Each dish showcased an exquisite use of fresh ingredients that hinted at an authentic, deep-rooted passion for the culinary arts. The flavors were robust, and the quality of the food ingredients was truly commendable.
