Wow what a great Chinese restaurant. It has a hot pot option but we ordered off regular menu. We had braised chicken it had lots of peppers and a pork blood soup. The dishes were served family style and shared and came with white rice. The food was like nothing we had ever eaten before at a Chinese restaurant. It tasted very authentic. The atmosphere of the restaurant very ambient and definitely you feel like you are at a Chinese restaurant. Our server was the best she was so accommodating and very fun. I would go back just to see her again. We really tried some for us unusual foods but they offer more standard Chinese dishes too. Oh we had some dumplings for an appetizer and they were the best.

Last time we had hot pot was over 10 years ago on the west coast, so we were very happy to find this place when visiting Sioux falls. Hot pot broth was good – we got the yin yang pot so had both the hot and normal broths. My husband who loves spice will tell you the spicy broth was perfect. I could try a few items in it as well and enjoyed it though I had to stick to the normal hot pot more. They had a variety of items for us to choose from – beef, shrimp, fish, cabbage, broccoli, shitaki to bake a few. Was a great experience and food – Definitely will come back.

Came Here unexpectedly on Christmas Morning. This Place was Beyond Amazing With their food. A little Sketchy Looking wondering if it’s going to be good but It was Great! You have 2 options to Sit at if you want to order off the regular menu or Sit Buffet with your own Hot pot which Is A little more of a price. They bring you a pot of Broth of your choice, You can Pick whatever you want however much you want from the Noodles, Vegetables, To the meats and Fish to add to your hot pot. The Sake Was So good, was not bitter, had An amazing taste. Also ordered of the regular menu, chow mein was Delicious.

Delightful adventure! Husband and I went here for date night and we had a great time. The staff we nice and very helpful to help us understand the process and what we needed to do. We had one side as “normal” and the other side as “spicy”. The meat is cut thin so it cooks quickly and everything tasted so good! We were able to try a few items we wouldn’t normally try and we’ve found a cute date night spot. Highly recommend and we will go back again!

The food was pretty good, but we asked for the half spice half not and got all spicy, which kinda ruined it for the others. The service was stiff, and it was very warm in the restaurant. Be prepared to pay a bit if you get all you can eat, over $100 for 3 people. The Variety is nice, though. Love the hologram fan.

I only had the hot and sour soup as it was family style but it was great and I ate it all.

We live 2 hrs away and drove here to try the hotpot. The hotpot was very good. The soup is tasty, but it would be better if there were more different types of meats. The service was okay, I think there is a shortage of help. It’s super slow;otherwise, everything was good.

I wish I could write this restaurant three different 5 star reviews, as they have three completely different dining experiences, all of which are amazing. When we started coming to Lao Szechuan years ago, they only had the hot pot buffet available, with promises of a full menu to be implemented soon. The hot pot buffet alone should earn this establishment 5 stars. They have a large variety of selection, and cooking your food with your table is a very intimate dining experience that you don’t get often. Their full menu is stuffed with authentic Szechuanese dishes I cannot purchase anywhere else in town. Some of my favorite include Chongqing spicy chicken, house spicy beef slice, or pork belly with garlic. They also have your staple “Chinese food,” and a portion of General Tso’s has come to us as 1.5 pounds! Now if all that isn’t enough to convince you, they also have a sushi menu. Craving a spicy tuna roll in the middle of your delicious meal? In less than 10 minutes it’s sitting on your table, made inches away by their sushi chef.

I don’t think the hotpot itself was terrible but it was very expensive for what it actually is. Limited options in the buffet. The freezer was pretty sad looking with the little variety of items. The bill was a shocker, $70 for 2, with a mysterious fee noted as “delivery” but it was actually the mandatory 15% tip. Plus credit card usage fee. Server immediately reprimanded us and told us it was the tip- well why not bill it as a tip instead of delivery fee.. Hmm, I wonder why. Let me guess, so most people won’t notice and add an additional tip. Shady business practices.

Stopped here for dinner for one. I wasn’t expecting much, thought it would be a typical Chinese American restaurant. Boy, was I wrong.
