The food was great! The service could be more friendly and inviting. My family and I, all had different meals and we tasted some of each other’s. Everything was excellent and even the kids loved everything. The portions are great and hefty. Enough for me to eat throughout the whole day and then have some left over. I’ve tried other soul food spots and wasn’t all that pleased with the food, this food here is great. Someone recommended this spot to me and for that SOMEONE to recommend this place says a whole lot.

Listen do not let the review’s distract you from this wonderful place I’m from Ohio and was looking for some Soul food and came across this place it’s Rare I give a food place a 10/10 but this place is well deserving The food had so much flavor The wait wasn’t long (it was worth the wait) the price wasn’t crazy and the quantity of food is worth every penny it was fresh it was hot . I ordered the Smothered Turkey chops Dinner and hands down some of the best I’ve ever had I would drive up to Michigan just for this food the cake was moist the kook aid was perfect 10/10 service . Only thing I was disappointed in that there was No greens or banana pudding but the cabbage and cake made up for it Lol if u haven’t went yet I don’t know what u waiting on I will return …

First time ordering from here. The food was good. No complaints! I ordered the Fried Catfish with greens and Mac n cheese. Also, the 10pc fried shrimp with sweet corn and Mac n cheese.

The greens smell like dog food no flavor the I had to throw them away but Mac and cheese is okay. The yams just taste like boiled potato with a little flavor This food is not that good for the soul.

You literally have to ask them. When did they cook their food because they are good for serving and selling old food that was made for five days ago. and asked nicely because the young ladies at the front seem to be very irritated about being at work just because it’s a family business does not mean you have to treat people like your broke down Cousin. It’s always a hit or miss with them and they don’t seem to care, so that’s why I say just ask when did they actually cook the food to really enjoy it. But my oxtails were tasteless and my greens were dirty and had absolutely no flavor. They are two out of 10 attempts 2 being good. Mac was dry. But like I say on a fresh Made day, they’re pretty decent.

From the south, in town for business and was looking for some good ole soul food. Had many Google results to choose from but this place was the closest. After reading the reviews, I was thinking that my experience could go either way with the customer service. Well, I had a great experience. Walked in looked at the wall menu, went to the cashier and ordered. She was pleasant enough. Waited 15 minutes in my car and then went inside to see my food already bagged and ready. Food was very flavorful and the baked chicken was falling off the bone. The potatoes were more of a “sweet potato” flavor than “yams,” but good nonetheless. I would definitely visit again!

This is my neighborhood soul food place. The food is delicious served hot and the way you prefer to eat your meal… Lol!!! My Pookie always request yam juice on her Mac & Cheese and guess what they do it no questions asked . I really enjoy the lunch menu because I can feed 4 ppl with individual meals for the price of feeding 2 ppl for round about the same price. The entire family is able to enjoy this awesome food. Let’s talk about the Banana Pudding this completes the visit for me lol..Hats off to the entire team at Lape!!!
