This is a landmark restaurant as you can tell from other reviews. First time back in some years. It has really been expanded from the years before. Our server Hope was great. Most things went well – Like the ribs (see photo) but no need for a full rack. Lasted two more meals at home 🙂 …. others had steak which was so so. Au gratin I would skip. Salad was room temp so not crisp. Cocktails were so far the highest price in Peoria (above Connected, Rizzis, Joe’s) and no obvious reason for the high price ($16.50 bourbon drink). plus tax and service so $20. I’d come back to support local but skip the au gratin, keep the ribs half order, and go for beer.

We are a couple in our 90s and have been happily married for 68 years. For about 50 of those years, we have celebrated our anniversary with a dinner at the Lariat. We have been pleasantly surprised by the hospitality, service, and food we have received. It has become a ritual for us and look forward to many more dinners and anniversaries. The last time we were there we observed young couples enjoying themselves and wonder if they too may be following in our footsteps. Love this place, most underrated lunch you can get in Peoria. The burgers are just so freaking good. For as much as fast food is now a days, you can get a much higher quality meal for the same price if not less. You must try their french onion soup, it’s legendary.

A classic steakhouse known for their sizzling platters. The steaks are cooked exactly how you request every single time. I’m a big fan of their classic au gratin potatoes as a side which are covered by a layer of melted cheese. Also, a decent beer selection although light on the craft beer side Overall a great place for a more “special” dinner.

Wife and I decided to go to the Lariat Steakhouse for our 36 year wedding anniversary. Lariat was my parents favorite steakhouse. I ordered small prime rib, wife ordered rib eye. My meal was wonderful, wife said her rib eye was a little over cooked. Every meal out of a restaurant can’t be perfect. Just like everything else! We had a good time and it was worth the choice to go there. This is the place to go if you want a great steak or seafood!

It was a busy Saturday night, but our service and food was horrible. From the time we were seated to the time we got our bill it was an hour and 45 minutes. We rarely saw our waitress. I ordered my steak medium and it came out rare. The waitress took it back. When she brought it out it was burnt to the plate. After prying it off the plate it was totally charred. The waitress did take it off our bill, but when you go out for a nice dinner that takes 3 hours from the time you walk I the door, you expect to be able to eat what you are served. We have been the Lariat Club a few times but will not be returning.
