I love a great Mexican Restaurant! I was down in Texas for 17years and the food down there is THE BEST!! I have not found a great Mexican restaurant in Iowa until I went ((Las Brasas Restaurant)) in Anamosa Iowa!!! It is THE BEST!!! Not only is the food Amazing but Henry and his Wife and his Brother, Make you feel welcome every time you come in his restaurant! I have went to a lot of different places in Cedar Rapids, and my sister even took me to the new one that open up in Anamosa, I will not be going back there… I will always give a restaurant a try and give them a chance, but when you have the best it’s hard to go anywhere else!! I want my money going to someone who deserves it and puts there love and passion in what they do!!! HENRY!! We will always go to you for now on!! Thank you for the GREAT food!!☺️☺️❤️❤️

A couple days ago on August 12th we went there to celebrate my Mom’s Birthday (first time being there by the way) and not only was the food phenomenal, but the service was thoughtfully personalized for every table & the atmosphere was warm, welcoming.

Henry worked so hard to give us an outstanding evening! The service was wonderful, and the food was well above any expectations we had coming in to eat in a small town! Some of the best Latin American/Mexican food we’ve had. If/when we come this way in the future we will eat here again, for sure.

We love going here! The food is delicious & always great service. The owner always makes it a point to talk to us & if we are displeased in any way (which is not often) he makes it right. We go every couple weeks or so & enjoy the atmosphere. We’re lucky to have such a good place to go & enjoy while being so close to home.

We’re from Texas and California. We travel the Southwest frequently. Las Brasas had fantastic red sauce on their meaty enchiladas that tasted as good as some restaurants’ mole! The refried beans and rice were great! We did not expect a small town in Iowa to have the best Mexican food that we’ve tasted in a couple years. Great service, great food and we are so excited to have eaten here on our travels through the Midwest.

Any time Henry sees an order of Dos XX Ambar and carnitas, he assumes it’s me and comes out to greet my wife and me. We’ve taken many folks here and the food has always been great. My faves are carnitas and lunch number 4, my wife likes the Jaliscitos. Henry likes to do extra decorations or presentations for frequent diners, and a Tequila shot with a diner is not unheard of. If you can’t make it to San Antonio for good Mexican food, this a great substitute. A great family running a great restaurant.
