The staff was friendly, prompt, and super patient. No one spoke English on the day we went, my Spanish is ok and my husband speaks none. They worked with us to understand the menu options and customization requests. When the food arrived, we thought we were back in Honduras. It was delicious AND the portions are “mas bastantr” aka Huge!!! Would recommend even if you have never eaten this genre of food. The ambiance is modern and clean with a slight nautical feel. I will go back. My one little complaint was the lack of chicken options, they had veggie options, but limited chicken substitutions.

They have a shared entrance with Red Iguana and I’m glad I called them to ask where they were because I couldn’t find it. Doors to the right. It was very clean and neat, invited my Jewish friend and she absolutely LOVED it, especially the pollo chuco. We tried baleadas, yuca frita and enchiladas. Their refried beans are amazing!! I also bought cheese and cream. I am Honduras and Las Hamacas is very authentic food is full of flavor, and has very good portions. Definitely recommend and I will go back!!

This is a newish spot in Waukegan. I decided to check it out and it was worth it. Since it was a Monday, it wasn’t busy at all and the service was courteous and fast. The food was delicious and fresh. Authentic Honduran food at a great price and a nice clean space in Waukegan. Since it wasn’t the weekend, I can’t comment on noise or ambiance.

It doesn’t taste like 100% hondureño food, the pollo chuco didn’t have that much season and the fries taste like old oil and it wasn’t cook right
