We walked in at 6 pm on Saturday to an empty restaurant. The menu has been reduced to less than one page. My wife ordered a strawberry margarita, which was only cheap tequila and ice, with food coloring. They had only Mexican beer, and had no diet Coke or Pepsi. We left without ordering.

BEST FOOD AROUND. Not best Mexican, the best food I have had all around. Everything was delicious and well prepared. Love the flour chips and queso and the papusas. Hubby said his carne asada reminded him of Arizona!

Tried the place today. Never again! Guy seated us . We ordered two small margaritas. He brought them ( without tequila) . Then we waited for him to bring chips and salsa. He forgot about us and there was only one other couple there. We had to go get him and ask if we could order some food. Had to ask for chips and salsa. Salsa was tomato sauce. We asked for hot sauce, nope . Brought my wife’s but he never turned in my order. Totally forgot, and then came blaming the cook. Brought 2 bills . One for the bar and one for the food. 12.00 each for small margaritas without tequila…. Awful.

If you glance at my other reviews you’d see that I critique mexican restaurants almost as a hobby. Because I love tacos. And burritos. And everything else that our south of the border friends have bestowed upon us. Las Palmas is exactly what I look for in a good restaurant, mexican or otherwise. The food is very good, the establishment is clean and well kept and the owners are exceptional individuals who are committed to their customers and community. I’d go on but you get the point, it’s a must try in the Bluffton area.

Just not sure where all the 5 * ratings came from! It was evident that the owners are very proud of their restaurant. They were very pleasant and great to chat with. The atmosphere was good. But the food was sub-par at best, that’s why I gave this review a 3. We had the carne asada, which we eat at every Mexican restaurant. The meat was tough, unseasoned and had chunks of fat in it. The beans were just beans and runny, not refried. The flour tortillas were great as was the salsa. I guess we were spoiled with our last restaurant in Charlotte. We won’t be returning.

Terrible service, over priced, cold food!! My wife and I decided to try this place out because we live near by and once we walked it we noticed it was totally empty. With that being said and us being the only customers in the restaurant it still took over an hour to get our orders of tacos and quesadillas. Once the tacos came out, it was cold and with little meat. The tacos lacked flavor and the carne asada tacos that we ordered was mixed with pork (I guess they ran out of asada). We will not be returning.

Stopped in Christmas Eve. Delicious food, friendly waitress. I want to see any one of you open a restaurant- much less one in a foreign country. Relax and enjoy the food. Stop trying to be a food critic. The food was amazing. Are you kidding me !!!!
