We went here the evening of my birthday and the food was mediocre, BUT the service was extremely terrible. We got seated and waited around 10 minutes to be acknowledged. I went to look for a server and found who I think was a manager who had a woman come to our table to take our order who a bad demeanor. The hostess then explained that the server assigned to our table did not want to wait on us when we were first seated. Never been here in my life. All I could think was that due to my husband and I being different races that he did not agree with that. Then I had dirty silverware. We never really got a server and should have left at the first bad sign. Tried to give them the benefit of the doubt, but we should not have. Other tables were served quickly with servers’ full attention. Will not ever go back here again.

bad service. Waiters on their phone sitting down at a table, took us forever to be acknowledged to order and the food tasted like leftovers. Crawfish was rubbery af and it took us to stand up to be acknowledged to pay the bill and then they charged us extra saying the price on the menu was wrong and that they couldn’t do anything about it.Would not recommend

Okay Mexican restaurant on highland road! The restaurant has many pictures painted on the wall – the pictures look pretty unique and it gives the restaurant a nice atmosphere you won’t see at other restaurant. I got a combo grill for two ($34.99) to share with a friend and I still had leftover for the next day. Yes, it was a big portion for me. The service could have been better though – why does all the staffs seem to say “I secretly don’t want to work here”? Anyway, it was a nice restaurant overall and I may come back for the atmosphere and try some other items.

When eating out in Baton Rouge, safety is a big concern, basically you don’t want to get murdered, especially when youre hungry. Come to think of it, you wouldn’t want to get murdered full either, that’s what makes this a great location. You don’t feel like you’re going to get murdered. Big plus. Deep breath and relax. Las Palmas has the most unique pepper shakers I’ve ever seen. Not sure who or what you’d need pepper for at a Mexican place, but here they are. I’d love to hear the story of why they need spring loaded caps to keep the pepper in the shakers….what happened? I really enjoyed the design on the table. Sweet tea was good. Service was fast and pleasant.

Friendly staff, food lacked taste. Got the grilled chicken breast which tasted like it was cooked the day before and very dry. Greenwell Springs location seems to be better.

Wish I could rate a 3.5. We stopped here for lunch on a road trip and there was plenty of seating. Our server was attentive and timely. There are options for everyone here. The redfish came out on a platter (like fajitas) so the vegetables were awesome but the fish could have been a bit more fresh tasting. My husband had the El Perfecto which consisted of several beef items, and he liked it fine. Overall, this was a good road trip stop, but some flavor expected from Tex Mex style foods was lacking.

Stopped here on my way back home to Texas, where the real Tex-Mex is. I digress. The food here comes close and is packed with lots of flavor, with the exception of their beans. Hello seasoning, are you there? They offer a wide variety of items from grilled fish to Tex Mex favorites like enchiladas and tacos. Ordered the Cheese and onion enchilada platter and loved it, although the chili con carne tasted like canned chili. Hmmm…. Lots of food for a decent price. Topped dinner off with a mango margarita that was to die for! One drink had me buzzing and doing that one shoulder shimmy in my seat. The service wasn’t as attentive as expected, however; there was no host in sight, so I sat at the bar…. Wasn’t greeted for about 7 mins and I was the only person at the bar! I wonder if staffing is an issue here or something. The poor service made the experience a drag. Either way, there was chips and salsa, so no tears were cried.

The staff was great! Both the hostess and waitress were really friendly. I didn’t care for the ribs too much but everything else was pretty good.

The food we received was extremely bland. The salsa tasted like ketchup and there was a grinding noise coming from what I presume was the kitchen. Very quiet building. Will say the host was very sweet.

To start with one of the margaritas had food particles stuck inside the glass. I asked the waitress for a clean glass. Then one of the meals had half of a clothing tag in it. The waitress apologized but didn’t seem to care. They did not even comp that meal which was not eaten. The manager saw me taking a picture of the Las Palmas sign above the kitchen and me making a nasty face. The waitress talked to him and they looked our way but nothing was said or done. Be careful eating at Las Palmas Highland Rd. Food wasn’t the best, 2 incidents, not the best service and management never said a word when notified
