With Spanish music playing, walk into a highly glass enclosed, brick floored restaurant with wooden lattice fencing above, a red/green theme throughout, painted geckos as part of the decor, numbered tables with wooden laminate tops, red seats adorning wooden chairs, and a few booths scattered throughout. On the tables, find salt and pepper in Tapiato shakers and ketchup. Remeber: please wait to be seated. The front room has an open ceiling concept. A number of the string lights overhead were out. While I loved that the women’s bathroom had a changing table, it along with the bathroom was dirty and part of the stalls were unusable. Colorful plates are used to serve your food, while your drinks come in the large plastic Dr. Pepper and Coke cups. Everyone I was with, really enjoyed their food. I did find the cheese enchilada a bit more oily than preferred and the main dish I had was more soupy than I excepted. Happy to give this place another try, but will order something different. Would have given four stars if it had not been for the fact it took a painful amount of time to get our check, despite the slower evening….was with family and you could tell we wanted to depart, but felt forgotten about – the awkward stares at each other were setting in before a member of the party waited at the bar to find our waitress for the check.

Finally some real Mexican food! No Tex mex here. I tried the quesadilla, tamale, chalupa, burrito, and queso blanco. All of it was spot on! My only regret is that I couldn’t fit more in my stomach. The tomatillo sauce with the chips was truly delicious and fresh. Highly recommend that everyone gives this place a try.

From Texas trying to find my Mexican spot. The Margarita’s are great. The home made(?) tortilla chips and green salasa is AMAZING. The red sauce not so much, was to sweet. Had hot sauce and salt on table so kinda fixed it. The green (avacado?) sauce was amazing though.. I asked waitress to recommend something multiple times, kind of clueless. Tried the tacos and tortilla soup. Not impressed. I know my soups, this one was way to watered down and no Chipotle/flavor, or any flavor. The chicken was in chunks, not shredded. Was like boild chicken chunks and vegtibles. Not even worth taking to go. Then the alacart tacos… Not hard to mess up. Chunk/cubes of beef. No lettuce or cheese. Never gave me refill of chips and cheese for bare tacos took 30+min. Service was friendly though. Atmosphere was nice/authentic. Might try again.. for Margarita’s and chips and something else on menu.

Great atmosphere! Was greeted immediately and sat at a booth. The waitress was polite and informative. Chips and salsa were delicious. Dinner plates were served in a quick manner. Food was delicious. $1.50 tacos on Tuesday’s! Overall a wonderful experience and will be a returning customer!!¡

The flavors were great. The service was amazing. However I think the price was a little too high for a LOT of bell peppers and onions in our fajitas.

The location on Carefree was horrible. The waitress did not speak any English. She kept having to bring someone out from the back to speak to us. She got the orders all mixed up for our table. The food was cold. One of our party requested no beans and the plate was served with beans. The waitress couldn’t figure out which check went to which diner. Two of our party did not receive receipts for their credit card payments.

Great food at great prices. The smothered burrito wasn’t very smothered, but everything else was good. I highly recommend the nachos! The menu has a huge variety of interesting things so there’s lots to try. We will probably be back again.

Really good food! Had some beef enchiladas with rice and beans and all of it was very good. Not too hot (spicy) the way they come, so get some extra salsa if you like it hot. Chiles rellenos (soft) were also excellent, definitely the best I’ve had here in Colorado Springs!
