Totally exceeded our expectations! The Calamari is really different and to die for, the fried shrimp is amazing – perfectly cooked and a unique and delicious breading, the scallops are also perfectly cooked and wonderful flavor, loaded baked potato is great, french onion soup is perfect. Service is fantastic, host is the friendliest person (owner, maybe?), very reasonably priced, good wine selection, and good atmosphere. LOVE this place!! Highly recommend!

The food and drinks are tastefully delicious. I had their fish tacos with rice pilaf and a tropical martini. My dinner date had a roast beef sandwich with french fries and he enjoyed his as well. Our server was friendly but it was not busy and when I asked for a to-go box she only gave me a small box and I needed a large one, then when I needed to ask her for a large one she took a while to come back to our table and the prices are quite high. The restaurant is quite a ways away from where I reside but if I do return to Monroe I would certainly go there again!

To begin we had a larger group of people for a reunion party. The service was extremely top notch and our waiter made sure we wanted for nothing. The wait time for food was standard 30 mins roughly for a large group. The quality of the food ordered was good with decent size portions. The waiter stayed busy and friendly and managed the group well along with timing the delivery of our food to the table. We will be back with out a doubt.

We enjoyed baked cod and perch filets. Both excellent with delicious coleslaw. Service couldn’t have been any better. Since we had Friday fish specials, we didn’t have hardly any wait. Others (not our table) with regular menu dinners seemed to have to allow for more time getting salads /soup. We’ll be back!

Arrived at happy hour. Plenty of food to eat in our choices (at reduced prices). Friendly staff. Almost didn’t go in because it looked too “classy” for a quick meal with a fast-good place across the road. Early supper at the Laughing Trout was well worth our time spent there.

Easter brunch was great. Staff was friendly. I actually came to write this review entirely because the bathroom here was the cleanest bathroom I’ve ever seen in a restaurant. It didn’t even feel real, that’s how clean it was. 5 stars for the food, 5 stars for the toilets.

Service was great. we were hungry so it advertised on the billboard so he went there and we’re pleasantly surprised …it’s a awesome steakhouse. We had cheese curds as an appetizer they were excellent are steaks were made to order and the hash brown potatoes and French onion soup where to die for!

Our meal was ok. For the price I wouldn’t go back. The baked French onion was horrible. The steak was only 3 stars out of 5. The prices are 4 star expectations. The Duck Wonton was a creative appetizer that lacked spice and was only 4 pieces. Again they hit 3 stars out of 5. Good but not great. The wild rice tastes like it’s out of a bag. Our server Clarke was outstanding!!!

We have been here numerous times over the years and have never had a bad meal. It’s a supper club, with a quality chef that uses fresh ingredients and I have no issue with paying a big extra for that level of quality. The gouda mashed potatoes are a must-have and the prime rib is always excellent. Drinks are crafted and not just thrown together…..A++ experience coupled with a friendly staff!
