Ate here yesterday. Good food. Cool environment. Weird rules. NOT open on Sunday as google suggests. Wasted time traveling here. Also, several people came in, sat down, and went to order lunch only to be told at that moment that she wasn’t cooking lunch. Only breakfast. It was 11:00. As I’m here now I can see that “breakfast only” is written in sharpie by the Saturday hours. Like I said, good food, just make sure to read the pages of disclosures on the front door before you enter or……No soup for you!

Slow and quaint this little nook of a diner is wonderful stop on the way through Mulvane and serves up home cooked food with a smile. Whimsical and comfortable with a deep blue interior and a strong sense of community about the place its a fun not too expensive stop for some good food and to take a load off. Oh bonus points for having half and half stop in and say hi to Laurie or to our wonderful server Lisa. Burger of the month with the basil, motz and tomatoes were killer! As well as the club sandwich!

If you want a fantastic meal, this is the place!! The breakfast burrito is my favorite! My Son loves the roughneck. Prices are great, portions are huge, and food is fresh. It’s a fun family diner experience, with a hometown feel. Watch for specials, like steak night where steaks are charcoal grilled outdoors. If you want cooking like your Moms, try Lauries!! YUM!!!

The biscuits and gravy are out of this world good! The eggs and hash browns were cooked perfectly for me. I would’ve rated them if the service was half as good as the food. The service on the other was horrible. I was greeted when I first came in and then about 5 minutes for a waitress to come over and then I placed my drink order and food order. I didn’t get any water for 15 minutes, and only then because I went to the waitress and she brought over and then didn’t check on it for 10 minutes. I overheard that they were slammed and that would’ve been fine, but, as soon as one of their friends came in they took great care of them while ignoring most others. I will try back at sometime to see if this was just an oddity.

Menu prices do not match what’s charged. My wife and I stopped in for lunch, we’d not been in for awhile. We found out the soup of the day was their excellent Potato Soup. On the menu it states $5.00 for a bowl and add a grilled cheese for $2. Seemed a good deal for $7. My wife and I ordered 2 bowls of Potatoe Soup and 2 Grilled Cheese, should be a total of $14 (we had water to drink). As usual the food and service was excellent. When we got the bill it was 2 bowls of soup $11.98 and 2 Grilled Cheese $11.98, for a total of $23.96. I mentioned the discrepancy to our server who was acting as cashier. Another young lady stepped up to say they were waiting for food prices to settle and haven’t changed menu prices yet. If the menu prices are that much of a difference the server needs to mention this when order is placed. I was expecting a $14 bill plus tax and tip. I got a $23.96 bill plus tax and tip. Thats essentially a $10 difference in what I was expecting.

Fantastic place to stop and Dine! Laurie and company made our trip to town memorable from the delicious burgers, to the kind gesture of giving our little one a toy. ABSOLUTELY recommend and will be back for sure!
