I had the bbq brisket sandwich which was delicious, ordered marbled with onions and regular sauce. First I thought it was too big and maybe I should take half home, but somehow I devoured the entire thing anyways. Had the Mac and cole slaw for sides and finished with a brownie. Generous portions and gracious service! Nice to sit on the outside patio (covered) and relax, although they have a drive thru as well!

I’m so glad I found this place! Super delicious! I had the beef brisket sandwich with their coleslaw, pickled onions, home sweet pickle chips, regular BBQ sauce…it was large and I didn’t think I was going to eat it all until I started to dig in. It was gone before I knew it …yum yum. I also tried the brisket gumbo, and had to take home a pint. They were kind enough to let me sample the pork belly and smoked turkey, jalapeno creamed corn and brisket. Soooo good, I’ll be back for sure. What a gem to find. The staff were so friendly and nice, too.

Just finished eating here and this place didn’t disappoint! We had brisket, turkey and the pulled pork and everything was delicious!!! We highly recommend the jalapeño creamed corn (very tasty but not spicy), the beans and the potato salad! The customer service was fantastic and we will definitely be back!

I’m surprised this place doesn’t have that many reviews because the barbecue is some of the best I’ve ever had. I got the three meat plate and chose the brisket, pork belly, and pulled pork along with the mac belly and potato salad. Everything was DELICIOUS. It also came with an assortment of small side dishes including pickled onions, cucumbers and jalapeños all of which gave a nice crunchy and zesty contrast to the barbecue. This place set the tone for my first evening in the town and I will definitely be back for more.

We were passing thru town, looking for a dog friendly restaurant, and stumbled upon LaVaca BBQ. So glad we did! The food was unique, and delicious. The service was even better. The food is award winning and mentioned in Texas Monthly for award winning tamales. Can’t wait to go back to try them.

We were excited to try this place out. Out of 5 people not one of us was impressed. BBQ sauce is vinegar and thin liquid, plus came in a tiny sampler cup which was not enough for the meal. Pulled pork sandwich was large, but dry & bland – it was hard to get down. We tried the bbq gumbo, but oh it was strong & greasy. 2 bites was the most anyone could do, rest was thrown out. I liked the brisket but hubby said it was too salty so watch out for that if you can’t have too much salt. My son got the blue tacos with the Texas Heat bbq sauce. He said they were just ok but not even hot, just a touch warm on the first bite. Maybe nobody wanted to test it when they made the sauce lol. However, the people were nice, we love the look of the place and the potato salad was DELICIOUS, better than we’ve ever had. We will try it again, but maybe a little bit at a time to see if we can find something we like.

Brisket is phenomenal! Sausage is fantastic! Sauces, especially the Texas Hot, are very very good. Try the Jalapeño creamed corn. It’s great! I will be coming back here again. Just great.

Food was good really disappointed a bbq place does not have fresh brewed iced tea. Every BBQ place I usually go to has tea! Little to much going on with bbq sauce. The sides were very good!! Definitely best Q in Bay City . You lose a star for no tea
