It’s good fried or broiled seafood. The atmosphere is dated. Pricing is fair and you do get a good portion size. Chicago’s Best was here in the past. While there is much better sea food out there, it isnt nearby. This place is definitely better than Long Johns etc. Food was well cooked and we didnt wait very long. So once again, having been to many sea food places, this one is ok.

I’ve always liked this place but it just got better so I had to write a review. The young lady at the front was extremely personable and made made fiancee laugh from the start of the order to the end of the order. The place is super clean and for a seafood restaurant, it doesn’t smell like seafood at all!!! And you can tell why when you get your food. The seafood is extremely fresh and cooked to perfection. I highly recommend this hole-in-the-wall place if you’re looking for good seafood in the Lombard area.

I stopped in heading elsewhere and it happened to be 7 mins before closing time. They said that I could still order so I asked what would be easiest for them. The gentleman suggested shrimp so got that with fries. Decent sized shrimp, a little thick on the breading for my presence but not a bad meal. Kudos for being willing to accommodate at closing time!

This place has always had really good fresh fish and now they’ve recently remodeled. The new look Johnson’s is a nice improvement. The fish sandwich is probably one of the best deals in town, I highly recommend it.

EDIT: 4 months later, tried this place again to give it another chance. Tried the lightly breaded shrimp. The batter was hard and had an aftertaste that made it hard to eat. The onion rings were good, fries were ok. Disappointing as I really love popcorn shrimp.

I chose this restaurant based on the reviews. Unfortunately, the food was terrible. I didn’t like anything. The coleslaw, jumbo Gulf shrimp, breading, the twice baked potatoes….it was all terrible to me. And the fact that this place had a higher rating than Pappadeaux….unbelievable!!! My friend had the catfish and I didn’t like that either. My friend like his food though which is why I gave it 2 stars.
