We camped in the campground behind the lLazy R in Hermosa SD, We toured all through Keystone and Mount Rushmore and Custer Park, it was a full day and we were starving. We were “those people” who arrived at 8:20 PM and they closed at nine! I apologize and asked if it was OK if we come in so close to closing or we shd take out. She said no problem, kitchen closes at 9 and was super friendly about it. Our food was made quickly, our server super friendly, our drinks super cheap and we were out of there by 9:05!(we were hungry!!) we both had the Friday night special. Prime rib and fish and chips. The food was pretty reasonably priced and everything was very good. Beers and mixed drinks are also reasonably priced. If you are passing through town I would highly recommend stopping there for a meal. It looks like they had some tasty desserts but we were full and they were ready to end their day!

Ordered the 10oz prime rib rare with sautéed mushrooms and onions, a loaded baked potato, and a wedge salad. The wedge salad was super fresh and the steak arrived as ordered and ate like butter!

Our server never checked on us after our dinner was served. Oh dessert was never mentioned. I will never go back and I live very close. Ask for 2 to go boxes. 1 for the edible food another for the dog gristle. Only got 1.

Tues July 27th 6pm. We sat at the round table in the front room by the tv and camera so you can check to see how little our waitress checked in on us. The service was awful. Waited 15 mins for drinks. Waitress didn’t even bring me one. Had to wait again. Ordered two onion rings got one after reminding her we got it 30 mins later semi warm. Hour and 15 mins in still didn’t even have salads. Got salads and meals all at the same time. Order was jumbled. Steak Temps all mixed up amongst the parties orders. Missing basic things like butter ketchup had to ask several times. Attitudes from the young staff was they clearly did not care. Never said sorry. I would suggest training the high school kids to care about their jobs. We finally left at 830.
