I had been here before so was expecting great food at reasonable prices, but there was a bit of sticker shock upon receiving the bill. Granted it IS at a resort, but for a couple hundred bucks I would have expected a bit more flavor or unique presentation instead of the safer relatively in-seasoned combination of the same three vegetable offerings and proteins. The food wasn’t bad, and was cooked safely, but that’s where it stops. High prices for fairly un-exciting results.

Rode motorcycles for 12 hrs today. Looked up a place to eat. This looked near the water. It was 50°F out but we ate out on the porch to view the lake. They put the overhead heaters on for us. The dining room had a good view of the lake and a warm fireplace too. While waiting for our food we went out to the lake and looked at it for a bit. Breeze was chilly so we retreated back to the porch with the heaters and out of the wind. Food was reasonably priced for the location and portions were very good. We were full but not stuffed. Tasted great. Loved the sweet chili vinaigrette sauce they had with green onions. Just delicious.

Super convenient having the restaurant on-site. I do wish there was a bit larger selection.

First time here and it was a wonderful experience! We sat next to the large windows and had the pleasure of a beautiful view. Our server was so nice and the food was very good. Walleye was cooked perfectly. Unfortunately I didn’t take pictures of the cheese curds or the chicken wild rice soup but both are a must try! The chef even stopped by to deliver our appetizer. Very glad we found this place!

Great food choices for kids and adults, including food variety of vegetarian options. Outside tables are lovely and covered to protect from rain. Service was attentive but not invasive.

It was okay. Food was pretty good, and they had some unique items on the menu– for example duck wings. The soups were also quite good. The view and location were great! We had to take a few stars off for service. Although, the staff seemed very friendly, they were very slow. It took a long time to just get water. They weren’t that busy, but still just had one sever working. In our opinion, there should always be at least two on, you never know when rushes can come. Another idea would be to have a host staff? The one server working seemed to have a lot of extra duties, like cleaning the host stand and tending to the fire in the lobby. Overall though, decent food, and good potential if staffing changes are made.

We used to occasionally come here and typically had decent B to B+ food and experience. Flatbreads used to be good and the steaks were palatable enough that I wasn’t afraid to recommend them to folks we were with. The place now lacks the pinch of class that it used to have and its obvious that there is no concept in understanding the science or art of food among the staff, much less pride in what leaves the kitchen to be served to guests. I always get a sinking feeling as to how the expereince will be when the tonic in my gin tonic is flat (which it was on this occasion). Brussel sprout appetizer was ok, but it was clear the stuff was simply reheated and thrown into a bowl. The flatbread pizza the couple we were with ordered looked very un appetizing and undercooked (cheese was barely melted) and it was obvious there was no standard of care. My wife liked the wild rice soup which we applauded as the feel good moment of the food experience. Against my better judgement I ordered the Confit Chicken – the skin was pale and soggy (no crispiness what so ever) and it slid off the hurriedly cooked and tough meat in patches the way ones skin slides off when they are soaked in the ocean for days on end (so I have read in shipwreck stories). If I had to guess, I would say the chicken was cooked in a hot water bath just long enoigh to get the meat to a safe temp. One anemic peice of limp broccolini was drooped over an exhorbatantly large pile of undercooked potatoes. It was very obvious that there was no standard of care in the kitchen. Unlike in the old days, no manager or chef came around to the table to inquire how the meal or dining expereince was, but then again, why bother when the answer is so embarrasingly obvious.
