This restaurant only does a “blind” (you don’t know what is going to be served until it arrives at the table) 5 course “tasting” (small portions) menu as it’s only option.

Absolutely delightful dinner that was gifted to me by my son for my birthday as a surprise. And the dinner itself was a succession of surprises! I love surprises, love the unusual small plates (5 dishes + the delicious broth to open one’s appetite and the spicy cantelope to clean the mouth before dessert) showcasing truly traditional Mexican cuisine and using freshest ingredients. Each plate was delicious with subtle intriguing flavours and gorgeous presentation, so I cannot select a favorite! I just loved the shrimp broth, the crunchy flavourful tuna tostada, the crab with summer chiles, and the cochon de lait with cherries. I would love to take classes from this amazing chef!

Hidden gem, fancy Mexican restaurant with 5 courses tasting. They ask if you have any food allergies or special diet before they personalize a menu for you. Food was definitely delicious and very traditional but I wished they served at least 7 courses, favorite ones; Caldito Shrimp Lime Juice, Epazote Tamal Tomato Bottarga, Porcelet Carnitas Rainier Cherries Memela & Chocoflan Coffee Caramel Cacao Nib. Bartender had some awesome ideas for non alcoholic “mocktails”, my favorite was “Watermelon Tepache”. Great atmosphere and bartender was very knowledgeable.

We had delicious dinner here. It was a five course prix fixe and was a fantastic meal. Pretty much “masa forward” (no surprise there). Shrimp broth was spicy with a kick and served in a cute earthenware cup. The final savory course was some roasted pork neck with an adjacent thick masa tortilla (sope?) with a fruity sauce on top with perfect level of spice. Complex and balanced. Squeeze of lime, bite of each together. Sublime! Also, get the spiced coffee served with a little masa “muffin”. Fantastic!

We had an amazing time at LM. The decor and vibe were unpretentious. The food was subtle and inventive, reminding me of fine dining in Mexico (think Azul). The vegetarian adaptations stood out as intentional and phenomenal, matching the uniqueness of the standard versions, which is quite a feat. Our experience was made particularly special by being placed at the bar. Initially, this disappointed me as we had a reservation, but these misgivings quickly faded because of the service from Justin. His encyclopedic knowledge and enthusiasm for the Mexican liquor collection was a true joy. I have not seen a liquor menu this good since Mexico City. Attentively, he led us through multiple mezcal selections that were among the best liquors I have ever tasted, adding richness and spice to the unexpectedly special meal. I strongly recommend everyone try this gem of a restaurant, that is both creative and exceptional.

Very enjoyable experience. The flavors were not what you would probably associate with a Mexican restaurant (as is likely the point). The food and drinks were very thoughtfully prepared. Though not every item was to our group’s individual liking, the dinner was quite memorable. Glad Lengua Madre is in town.

You get what you pay for here with a great atmosphere, great service, and excellent food. One of our party members booked well in advance to get a spot for 3. You only order drinks, and the rest is decided by the chef with a 6 course meal. May not be for everyone, but I think it’s worth the experience.

Incredible experience from start to finish. The food was amazing, and the drinks were perfect complements to the flavor palate. The servers seemed very knowledgeable about the ingredients, history, and significance of each dish. Highly recommended.

Interesting modernist concept of a Mexican Tasting Menu. Upon entry, you are. greeted by a pink hallway and led into the dining room, with a combination of table and bar seating. The open kitchen dazzles, and one wonders when the Michelin star(s) will be coming. Price is high but reasonable if not a bargain for the culinary experience. The staff all know about every single ingredient in every dish: where it is from, who grows it, and every other detail about which you might be curious.

It’s a dinner and show for sure. A perfectly well balanced dinner. The staff were very knowledgeable and super accommodating. Sometimes I get worried about coursed meals with way too much meat or an abundance of food, this was just the perfect pace for a date night. Not to mention the dining room atmosphere. Shrimp broth was just a bomb of Unami, the duck was perfect cook with that amazing mole sauce. The highlight for me was the crab dumpling dish, it was creamy, rich, cheesy and the sauce just cuts thru it all. I think overall Id love to come back and see what else they do. Didn’t get to drink much but wine list looked good.
