I strongly recommend Leonora as a restaurant for your trip to Vail. We are on New Years Eve for their “New Years Gala” fine dining, 5 course experience. Below I shared our meals, I did forget to photograph our soup. For food, it was quite expensive. You get a proper fine dining experience but not a lot of bang for your buck with the 5 course experience. The food was full of flavor but didn’t have a large quantity for big eaters. I can say that after all 5 courses I was still a bit hungry as I did prepare for this meal and fast beforehand. The salad was my favorite part of the meal – it was just perfect and tasted amazing. The beef too was tender and flavorful, not my first choice though.

Being a resident up here in the Valley I usually steer clear of Vail. But, we spent the night at The Sebastian and ate breakfast at Lenora. Three words, it was good!

I rarely write reviews but in this case have to share. We were in for dinner, 3 people. Attentive service, cannot complain, but there seems to be a significant misalignment between food prices and amount of food served, as well as quality/taste of dishes. For 3 people, for dinner, with the tip – we spent around $400. In my opinion this is very high for small portions that are “to share”, and average quality of food. Food was not bad, but no kick to food, flavors were bland. Except salad. Salad was good. I don’t mind spending on a super awesome dinner but this definitely was not super awesome. I was surprised. Expected much better. Music was also odd – some type of Gothic church choral pieces. I personally love Pergolesi – type music, but not with dinner. Basically overall a significant disappointment unfortunately. Gave 3 stars based on service – 5 stars, food – 3, price – 1. Will not be coming back.

Easter brunch was a HUGE miss. $75 per person for dried out ham, cold bacon and sausage and a variety of pastries. My wife first tried the eggs benedict from the buffet and after not being able to cut the English muffin with her knife we asked for a steak knife. Even with a steak knife the bread was so rubbery that it would NOT cut. We had to order it fresh. The only food we enjoyed was the eggs we ordered fresh. I thought maybe the “fresh baked pastries” would redeem our experience but the carrot cake was the driest I’ve ever had. When I put my fork in it, it just crumbled. In hindsight we should’ve skipped Easter menu and just ordered off the regular menu. Buffet was below subpar and because the restaurant was fairly empty, there wasn’t much turnover on the food so it ended up just sitting there and getting dried out or over cooked. Service was so slow that “bottomless mimosas” were not worth it. Managed to sit there for 1.5 hours and only get 2 mimosas. Total with tax and tip (which they automatically include 20%) came to over $200. We don’t mind paying $200 for brunch but we expect to have excellent food and service.

The atmosphere and quality of food did not meet our expectations for the price point of the dishes. We did not finish two of the items we ordered due to taste and had to send a third back because it was not edible. The waiter was nice enough to remove the third item from our bill. The desert was good, but overall, there are too many other fine dining choices in Vail to go here again.

Nestled in the heart of Vail, Colorado, Leonora stands as a testament to the art of fine dining. My recent experience at this culinary haven was nothing short of extraordinary, leaving me utterly captivated by the fusion of flavors, the ambiance, and the impeccable service.

We’re guest here at the Sebastian and first off, let me put this disclaimer out here. The front desk and hotel staff that we’ve personally encountered have been amazing and welcoming. The staff at Frost Bar, concierge,

This place it wasn’t at all impressive. The menu did not have variety. I ordered a salad, I will said small side salad for 14 dollars. I have to asked for dressing because it didn’t have one. I ordered paella. The dish was a totally joke. I know it is a high scale restaurant, but for the price ti is ridiculous.

Jeremy and Garrett were both outstanding this evening. We were excited to check out The Hotel Sebastian and Leonora for the first time. I saw the menu for share plates and extensive wine list and wanted a relaxing casual setting. We arrived too early for our reservation and Garrett who I assumed was a manager could have just waved us off and I would have been fine but he walked out behind the podium and spoke of the art and the history of the hotel. We were sat in a great booth and Jeremy was great at explaining the menu and what was notable or won awards. The shining moment was when Jeremy told us Garrett was a Sommelier! Garrett came by the table and asked questions and recommend a wonderful Grenache that was perfect. We enjoyed 6-7 plates and 2 desserts. Pate, rabbit pasta and butternut salad were my favorites and the boys loved the lamb. The showstopper was the toffee pudding and candied bacon. a must try. It was served warm but the ice cream cools it down quickly. Food and hospitality were spot on and we are excited to come back for another wine recommendation and more small plates!
