I had a chicken fried ribeye steak. This was a first for me. It was pretty good. It comes with mashed potatoes and green beans. You have a choice of regular cream gravy or jalapeño gravy. I choose the jalapeño gravy. It has a very slight jalapeño flavor. The steak was decent but was not a must-have on future visits. The mashed potatoes were slightly on the dry side. There were about 15 people in our group. The service was adequate but could have been better. There were not enough pitchers of tea for the number of people. They were constantly being moved from one end of the table to the other end.

On Thursday, 01/19/2022, my husband and I went to Lew’s for dinner at the suggestion of many of our friends. We love trying new restaurants as we have worked in the food industry for many years and price is never an issue. We arrived and were not greeted for several minutes and, when we were finally greeted, we were told to “just sit anywhere.” After waiting for some time, our waitress, the same one who told us to sit anywhere, finally came over with menus and asked if she could get us something to drink. When we asked what beer was on tap, it seemed to be a bother to actually provide that information, almost like she could not get away from the table fast enough. She delivered our drinks, did not even ask if we wanted or provide us with any water, and that was the last time we saw her, except when I had to get up and go find her to ask for the check and a box for my food. We had to stop a busboy to ask him to get our server and the bartender came to our table rather than the server. As for the food, sadly, while the concepts were great and the portions were amazing for the price; the execution was lacking. The food was bland, devoid of spices. My husband’s meal was supposed to be “Cajun” and just tasted like a white wine butter sauce. I had the chicken parmesan and the sauce had absolutely no flavor. We both added salads to our meal and even those were lacking in flavor and the tomatoes were mealy and dry. Unfortunately, we will not be returning.

Server was not attentive and we needed to ask others on the floor for drink refills and our check to leave. As for the food it was well presented and cooked well. All of the dishes were lacking seasoning to provide any flavor beyond the basic ingredients. We felt there was little value for the price on this trip.

I have been coming here for almost 2 years and sadly the quality of this beautiful establishment has been slowly and steadily declining. The food takes very long to come out and everything is over cooked. It will be some time before we go back. Not being picky eaters, after being here for two hours for lunch, we left still hungry. I do hope things turn around for this place because I would like to come back one day.
