Five stars because of unique experience, that’s the first time I try Ethiopian cuisine.

Food was fresh and good. Doro chicken was delicious and a must try. Ethiopian coffee ☕️ was so refreshing. Ambience was very rejuvenating. Though the pricing is on a higher side and quantity is less for the price. Other Ethiopian restaurants provide unlimited injera but this one only gives 2 injera with an entree.

Four of us and child went for lunch on Saturday May 27th. We had made our reservation. It was in the patio we were seated on long table . Since the kid was hungry requested for injara bread and lentils ro be served . The kid couldn’t take the injara as it was sour. We tasted and found very sour compared to other Ethiopian restaurant I had. For appetizers we ordered eggplant dip and sambhusa . The eggplant dip was good but not the toasted injara it was as if taken out of freezer. The sambusa was good and since it was fried it had ozzing out oil . We ordered 3 vegetables sampler with different combinations. The lentils and cabbage was good . Okara and collard greens were bad . When we served vegetables they forgot to give injara and we need to ask for it. Again the injara was sour.

I’ve gone with my wife and two kids to several Ethiopian restaurants around the Bay, especially on Stevens Creek and San Carlos, LA, Oakland, but this place by far is the best one in the state. Leyou provides vegan dishes and healthy meat dishes so anyone and everyone can come and enjoy some delicious Ethiopian cuisine. My wife couldn’t have gluten but they had gluten-free injera, which was great! The servers were very attentive and consistently checked up on me. I initially saw the inside which was beautifully decorated with cultural art of Ethiopia, but the outside was just as beautiful. For the summer time, I recommend dining outdoors in the beautiful weather.

This place is seriously good with a really kind owner. The mild spicy level for everything was perfect for my group. Make sure you realize while ordering that “sharing platter”, “family”, and “individual plate” are how the food is served, not the size.

I’d say any of the places on West San Carlos have better food, whether it’s Kategna, Walia or Mudai. The kitfo is not beef, it’s either tuna or salmon. Service is very friendly!

We walked in at lunch hour. The place was empty and we were shown our table immediately. The waiter pointed us to the qr code and asked to order through the system. As we were ordering through their online system we asked for some water. No one showed up for 10 mins.
