I stopped in here while sightseeing around Portland and Milwaukie in 2017, and really dug the atmosphere. I was the only customer in the place, and was fairly hungry after walking around Portland, and wanted something that’d stick to my ribs. I was not disappointed. I ordered some chowder, the clams, and a cobbler and left stuffed. The food itself was good. If you are expecting a gourmet meal, go somewhere else. This is simple diner/bar fare and it did what it did well. I don’t know the deep lore of Milwaukie, but given the decor, I could tell Libbie’s had been around feeding the community for a while. That’s not a dig against the place. I hope it keeps it’s atmosphere as long as possible, but some people might be put off. If you walk in and check your expectations, you’ll be happy.

They literally made toast, then dipped it and put it on the flat top. Worst French Toast ever. My other halfs chicken fried steak was good, or they would have gotten 1 star. Super bummed.

If you want to take a food trip back to the 70s and 80s, here it is. Over large menus, all made with the best intention. Great staff. Just to be clear, the food is ok. Price are good.

Good ole diner food, service and atmosphere. The order was prompt, tasty and filling. The server was friendly and attentive. Quiet and calm vibes on the non lounge side.

I had a Turkey melt, it was exactly what I expected.. Low quality products and simple presentation. I’ll be back.. simply because it’s close. Staff was pleasant and the customers were polite. The place is a little dingy, but it’s been around for awhile.

Met my friend for Eggs Benedict and a Bloody Mary in the lounge on a Sunday. If you are looking for a clean diner but a dive bar vibe, this is the place.

As you walk in the door, it is like going back to the 1950s. The service is fast and the food is excellent.
