Tonight was my first time eating at Lima de Veras and I’m here to say this Peruvian cuisine is hands down the best taste in the DMV!

The pulpo (octopus) dish is phenomenal. I hope it wasn’t just a lucky batch, but that was the absolute best octopus dish we have ever tried anywhere. It was just that amazing! Minds totally blown kind of good.

The food was amazing and tasty. Easily the best Peruvian good I ever had. I had a special request with my order and they made it just the way I wanted. The fried fish was fresh and cooked very well. I recommend coming here. Our server Isabel was quick and attentive. Since this is a newer restaurant she explained what they have everyday. From karaoke Thursdays to a live DJ on Friday and Saturday nights.

We arrived on a Sunday at 11:30 am. Great service! We had to the classic ceviche, octopus, lamb quill, anticucho. Presentation was amazing and the food was excellent!

People who recommended the place really loved it. My experience was not that good. I will give it yet another try because the server was great and really sad when I told her about my experience. The traditional chaufa, with pork and chicken, was way too salty and did not have pork and few pieces of chicken. And the passion fruit juice was way too sweet. Maybe it was just bad luck. I will try it again next time I am in Washington. 🙂

As a local guide, it’s extremely rare for me to give 5 stars. But this place is the exception. Me and my husband ordered 5 items as shown in photos, along with drinks.

Amazing traditional Peruvian food. The causa was the best! We felt like we were in Peru. The staff was friendly specially our waitress Jaqueline was very nice! We were a big party and she made sure to fulfill all our needs. The decor was very modern and with lots of Peruvian icons. I highly recommend it!

I want to think that the lack of an executive chef caused the decrease in the gastronomic proposal. It is my third time in the restaurant and nothing is good anymore. the first time was AMAZING. Unfortunately, from there to yesterday’s experience everything goes downhill… the ceviche lacks flavor. the hard and overstitched anticuchos, the trio of causes is not something that I would recommend anyone to order again. It was lacking in flavor, poor in seafood and too many sauces. I suggest more detail to the kitchen. the pisco was tasty. I hope they take into account the details so that they improve.
