Owner and Chef, Rui Borges, was born in Sao Miguel, Azores (an autonomous region off the coast of Portugal). He immigrated to New Bedford, MA the early 80’s in search of the American Dream. In 2004 he moved to Florida where he was able to realize his dream by opening the only Portuguese restaurant in Orlando….Lisbon.
Lisbon is a Portuguese restaurant serving authentic cuisine at its very best. Simple but elegant food is perfectly complemented by the restaurants Azulejo décor which is a characteristic element of Portuguese culture.

This was actually my very first experience with Portuguese food, and I was not disappointed! The restaurant makes great use of its strip mall location. It’s very nicely decorated inside and you very quickly notice octopus must be a Portuguese staple. The wait staff were fantastic, knowledgeable and very attentive even though it got quite busy.

It was my first time and since I entered I loved the music, the attention, the space is simple and charming. I ordered steak on the stone and the Meat comes without seasoning on a Hot Stone and you stop cooking when you want, the accompanying sauce or just with coarse salt, the consistency of the meat is fantastic.

You can’t go wrong with anything you order from the menu. The service is stellar, the octopus was taken to another level and the desserts… Oh my goodness the desserts… The sardines! Yo… Try the grilled sardines. You are welcome. Oh! And the tile cod fish! Comes in a hot tile with potatoes and it will make your mouth happy.

Excellent! This is my favorite restaurant in Orlando. I been here several times and they never disappoint. Reservation is highly recommended as it always seems to be busy and most patrons seem to be of the local Portuguese community, which is always a good sign. The prices are very reasonable and the food is top notch. Don’t forget dessert!
