I recently hit up Little Asia Cafe, and let me tell you, the food was on point as always! I couldn’t resist ordering my fave combo: Kaopoon Kua Ntshiab and BBQ Pork Belly. The flavors were spot on, though the pork belly’s skin wasn’t crispy this time. Still tasty though!

I was excited to try a new place that offers authentic Laotian food and other southeast Asian cuisine. We went here for supper on a weeknight. The service was quick, and food was prepared fairly quickly. The outside of the building and area looks sketchy. The inside is nice and is a part of an Asian mall. We ordered spring rolls, cream cheese wontons, and egg rolls for starters. They both were served with the fish sauce, which has a good heat level. The egg rolls were ok due to too many vegetables versus meat in ratio. The kids shared a small meatball pho, which was a decent size. My friend and I ordered the kaopia to share, and that was so delicious! Pure comfort food. It contains homemade noodles, which I believe are rice and tapioca flour. They make the soup thick like a porridge. It tasted like a Laotian chicken noodle soup. It was topped with green onions ,cilantro, and crispy onions. We liked it so much that we visited a second time a few days later. I really wanted to try the kapoon. It looked like something similar to what my mom makes but is a Cambodia dish. It’s a red curry noodle soup, which was pretty tasty and similar to the aforementioned dish. Although, it was a bit overwhelming of mushrooms and bamboo. I had to remove half of the mushrooms. Otherwise, I highly recommend this restaurant. It offers pork belly and beef brisket at the counter. I’d like to come back to try more items.

This place is pretty hidden because it is located behind the building facing university avenue.

Pho broth was good. Why all the hmong restaurants or pho places in MN so stingy on the meat. This is a P1 small only have 3 tendon and 3 peices of beef. Wheres the different cuts of beef??

Ya know. The last time I was here was about 10 years ago went it was still Destiny Cafe 1. I love to support small businesses and like to recommend good places. This place was typical. Staff was nice and water refills was okay. Time for our food to come: 1 hour and about 20 minutes.

I went here a couple of days ago with a referral from a friend. I ordered, egg rolls, kapoon noodle salad, raw laab, & everything pad Thai. I DON’T RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. I’m a food connoisseur and I don’t recommend this place. The egg rolls barely had any stuffing plus the wrapper was too thick. The kapoon noodle salad & pad Thai was EXTREMELY SWEET! I only ate a few bites out of both dishes and couldn’t handle it. The raw laab had too much rice powder and the powder wasn’t very fine. It feels like rocks in my mouth. I would never go back unless they change their chef.

The papaya salad is not good at all. Ordered for delivery and it doesn’t taste fresh. Spent extra $2 for noodles and the noodles are still hard. They give you so little liquid that it’s dry. The taste is also very off, more sour than spicy and I ordered medium spice. I also got the BBQ pork belly here and they give you a okay amount for $14. At the least, they know how to make decent purple sticky rice.
