Little Guatemala Menu – Morganton, NC

Type : Restaurant

Location : Morganton, NC

Little Guatemala shares Guatemalan culture on the streets of Morganton, NC through freshly roasted coffee, bean-to-bar chocolate, indoor soccer, fair trade crafts, and street food.

We are currently roasting coffee and crafting chocolate for sale at the Morganton Farmers Market, Morganton General Store, Food Matters, Lake James State Park, and Mi Pais.

Restaurants like Homers, Overmountain Cycles, and Appalachian Table also brew and serve our coffee.

We are working on the building at 810 East Union Street to open for the indoor soccer, craft market, and street food.

Little Guatemala is not a business, it is a community, and you are welcomed into it as soon as you walk through the door. The authentic food, in-house-roasted coffee, house-made chocolate, and colorful gifts are simply prompts for the connections that are made here between people of all kinds. As you settle in to a cozy sofa to leisurely enjoy your al fresco meal (or coffee, or book), the plants, decor, and music of the expansive, covered space transport you to The Land of the Eternal Spring. This isn’t just a meal or a shopping excursion. It is an experience and one you will be eager to repeat.

Sweet little place. Their coffee is so good! I got a bag of Finca Medina. Food was pretty good too. For someone like myself who has traveled to some of the smaller countries like Guatemala, this felt just like being back there.

Stopped in en route from Hickory to the Morganton farmers market on a Saturday morning. Cool spot just outside of town. Small menu choice, but that’s okay. They roast their own coffee and sell some other random items. Seating inside, on the front patio, as well as the back deck.

A great place to eat and relax. It is decorated so colorful and uniquely to represent Guatemala. The owner, Christian was very nice and friendly. He ask us how was the food ? It was delicious (Steak, rice, beans, guacamole and the sweet plantains were so spectacular. There are numerous seating arrangements. Also outdoor seating. Our cashier and educator Barbara was so sweet and taught us so much about Guatemala food. They have so many coffees and flavorings. You just have to go there and experience their food and culture. They have a indoor soccer field for the children. Highly recommended.

Had the “Guatemalan Breakfast” there. It was very good! I will be going back to try some of their other dishes! Comfortable and casual atmosphere. It’s very evident they’ve put a lot of love into the building and business!
