The sign out front was a little different than what we expected, but the location was correct from Google Maps so it worked. This was our first time so we tried a few different things and shared them all.

This is a quaint casual restaurant with a pleasant ambiance. They maintain some Tibetan specialties, but also have Thai and Indian cuisines. The waitstaff are hospitable and were interested in sharing some knowledge of Tibetan traditions. We felt welcome and the food was tasty.

My favorite restaurant with ample vegan options on 4th street. Be sure to mention vegan so the waitresses cab be sure you don’t get butter on or in anything. Wonderful, light and delicious food. I always want to go here when I’m in Bloomington! The lentil soup is perfect after a nice hike in Hoosier National!

We are regulars for years. However, this time we went and the waitress was very incompetent. She could not get the time and number of people right on the phone for a reservation. After food arrived, we requested utensils, but she brought only for one person. The food was very spicy even though we aske for zero spice. We simply requested that she consulted with the kitchen, but she quickly defended saying that’s how it has always been. She does not come back to check on things and we had to wait and look for her multiple times. There are two servers. We had the tall, light-colored hair one and she has been really good. However, this dark-haired lady was incompetent and we never had experience this bad at this one of our favorite restaurants in town. We will not go back as long as this incompetent server works there.

This place is a hidden gem among several options available in a short distance. Having never had Tibetan food, our server was very helpful suggesting items to eat. You can order your food with different spoce/heat levels and it was recommended we be conservative. I ordered mine at a 3 and the heat was just right. The atmosphere feels like a small bed and breakfast and they have outdoor seating available as well.

This was my first time having traditional Tibetan food and I was very impressed. We started with an order of the Temo and an order of the Mo Mo. The Temo is a soft doughy bread that you drown in bread, do not expect a lot of flavor but it is good. The Mo Mo are beef dumplings and they were excellent. The meat is seasoned well and they are steamed to perfection. For main course I ordered the Kham Amdo Thugpa which was a delicious stew. I ordered it at 2 spicy and it had plenty of flavor. The noodles and chicken were good, I would have liked to see a few more vegetables than the few tomatoes that were in there. Overall the dish was good, I was very happy with it. It came with a soup and salad which were both excellent. The soup was a lentil I believe and it had a bit of a lemony flavor that was very good. The dressing for the salad was ginger but had a hint of peanut, it was amazing. The service was great, very friendly and the food came out pretty quickly. They also have Thai and Indian dishes if that is more your style.

I love the vibe here. It’s in and old house and each room is a different dining area. Tons of Dalai Lama photos from his visits to this place and a cool fireplace at the center of one of the rooms. The momo dumplings are delicious, especially with the accompanying sauces. The original momos are my favorite here. The Kham Amdo Thigpa was good. I can’t tolerate a lot of spice and chose two out of five. It was perfect and not too overwhelming. Service was excellent.

Super chill super casual casual place for delicious Asian cuisine. They have everything from typical Thai to Indian dishes, and they will make them legitimately spicy if desired! Everyone working there is very friendly and come across as genuine. You owe it to yourself to try this place!
