My family and I had an EXCELLENT experience during our first visit here. We were quickly seated, and informed by multiple staff members about the menu and ordering. Everyone treated us like family,fanned over the kids, and checked on us frequently. Aside from the great atmosphere, the food was great! And for some reason, the other customers were just as pleasant. I’d highly recommend Liz’s to ANYONE!

This lovely little place embodies Southern food and culture so perfectly. Catfish was off the hook! Staff is super friendly and the place feels like you’re at home. The dining room is small, so don’t get mad if you have to wait for a seat. They have a community table where you can eat with fellow diners.

The food is usually exceptional; however, today it was below average (I gave the food 3 Stars only due to the catfish was great). The fried chicken looked good but it had a burned flavor on two of the three meals (the other was catfish) and it wasn’t seasoned as it used to be. We’ve always thought their fried chicken was one of the best, but if this had been our first visit, I’m not sure we would go back again. The Mac and cheese wasn’t good, the dressing was gritty and the mash potatoes didn’t have any flavor. I’m not sure if the chicken batter recipe has been changed, but if so, I hope they go back to the recipe it once was.
