So excited to have a Hawaiian BBQ restaurant in South Austin. L&L just opened and we could not wait to try it out. The service was amazing and everyone was friendly and attentive. The food was out of this world! We will absolutely be back!

So ONO! Authentic to L&L in Hawaii! Missing a few menu items from home but was still the best thing I’ve tasted since I left!!! I had the BBQ mix plate and it was amazing!

Definitely way overhyped. Almost $18 for a mix plate. Ridiculously small portions. The short rib was tough, fatty and gristly and not charred on a grill as it’s cooked on a flattop. The chicken was was so overcooked and rubbery and blackened from leaving it on the flap too too long, and the beef was tough and chewy. The raw cabbage on the bottom didn’t make any sense. The place was kind of dirty as well for being brand new. The booths had food stuck in the seats, and the floor was dirty and sticky. Definitely I would not come back here again!

Service: The people were kind, and made great recommendations. This was my second time trying Hawaiian food, so I wasn’t sure what to get but the staff was patient. I didn’t feel rushed and overall the staff had a great vibe!

Spam Musubi was top notch and loved the BBQ mix plate. Nice to have some more Aloha in South Austin. Everyone was so nice! People ordering (self included) seemed to be excited to finally get a local L&L. Mahalo!

Oh man! How long have we waited for good Hawaiian in Austin! The katsu was crisp and not greasy at all. I loved the katsu sauce because it sweeter and not too vinegary. The macaroni salad was spot on: creamy and chewy. The Kalua pork was flavorful, and had some cabbage mixed in, which was great for texture. How often is to often for Hawaiian?

Super stoked that L&L is in Austin BUT was kinda disappointed by the portion size. We ordered two regular plates, bbq chicken and kalbi, and each only came with two slabs (i.e., 6 kalbi bones). I understand that inflation might be impacting the cost and/or portion size but dang—paying for a regular plate ($13-17) and getting a mini plate portion didn’t feel right.

Man, this place hit the spot and I’m so glad it’s so close! Excellent Moco and some of the best Katsu I’ve ever had. Don’t listen to the reviews on any current issues. This place is brand new and they’ve nailed it and will only get better. Super nice crew too! Thanks!

Been waiting a long time for this to open. Only good Hawaiian food that reminds of back home because this is in fact on of the main places we go to eat in Hawaii. Happy to not have to drive to San Antonio or fly to Hawaii any time I want to have L&L
