I was hungry for a good Reuben and searched for one nearby. Lloyd’s came up well reviewed so I tried it out.

Stopped in with my son. Got a towering sandwich full of fresh ingredients. She even cut the sandwich in kid size pieces for us and gave me a kids cup. Above and beyond. Just what a deli should be, fully customizable sandwiches and you won’t need a big dinner!

Lloyd’s is one of our go-to spots! The staff are so incredibly nice – some of the nicest in the Denver area. The sandwiches are also fantastic, they’re more traditional sandwiches not subs which is a nice change of pace from all the subs you can get. It’s tucked right on a cute street and has great vibes. You can’t go wrong with this spot!

$17.22 for a reuben and chips, no table service to pay for, no dish ware to wash – sandwich was good but the pricing makes no sense.

We’ve ordered 3 times now to give them a chance. They seem understaffed. The last two times we went, only one person was working. She was juggling taking orders on the phone, in person, and making sandwiches at the same time. (At one point I saw her make part of a sandwich, take an order, then go back to that sandwich, which seems inefficient, but I’m sure she was flustered.) Online ordering for pickup is significantly more expensive than going in and placing an order–no joke $18+ versus $13+ for a full size sandwich. My first time there, I placed an order to go in person for a turkey and avocado sandwich plus another sandwich; they said it would take 20 minutes because they were backed up. So I sat at the bar right behind the kitchen snacking on chips. Just shy of 30 minutes later she brought me my order and said, “I’m so sorry, we’re out of avocado”. She didn’t tell me while making it, didn’t offer an adjustment or coupon or anything. I told her that was kind of an important part of the sandwich and it would have been nice to know before she finished making it. She said sorry again and seemed like she was on the verge of a breakdown, so I said it’s ok and went on my way. The second time I ordered the same turkey and avocado sandwich, there was avocado on it, but it was impressively paper thin. I thought maybe it was just that time, but I just got the same sandwich again today, and the avocado was again paper thin. What’s the point if you can’t taste it? My partner’s bbq sandwich today had barely any bbq sauce on it. The bread selection is very limited, but I do think it’s tasty for sliced bread; I like the wheat. And the giardiniera is really good, if they put enough on so you can taste it. I’d come back if they made consistent sandwiches with balanced toppings, were better staffed, and provided better customer service.

The staff was kind, and I was very excited for the fact they serve boars head meats and that we can customize our sandwiches. However, I don’t understand how a “tasty” sandwich shop has such awful, tasteless bread… those who know a good sandwich know good bread is a must, but this is a complete swing and a miss. Get some nice rolls or heros, or rye bread that actually tastes like rye, and I’ll give you another try…

TAKE-OUT REVIEW: Sandwich was pretty good. They really load up the toppings and don’t skimp on meat and cheese.

We ordered the Cuban-ish and North of I-70 sandwiches. They were both so good. They have various beverage choices, chips and cookies. They have a foosball table, patio seating and today they played 80’s music. Good vibe, great staff. Definitely will be back.

So my star rating is a bit of a paradox. I wanted to give it a 3 but the fact they had hot saurkraut raised an entirely mediocre Rueben (my favorite sandwich) up a bit. Great cheese, meh dressing, nothing special pastrami and downright…. MEHHHHHHHH marble rye.
