10 stars! Seriously one of the best fried fowl sammies this side of the Rio Gran’. Wedge salad was also creeper hit! Don’t think you can go wrong with anything on the menu!

This place is great. We took a spin out here just to try the food, and due to it being hot they had a limited menu. It didn’t seem that limited, and we tried a bit of everything. The duck quesadilla was awesome, but the stars of the meal were the watermelon salad and the queso. If this was nearby, I’d be dropping by for queso daily. Definitely worth a trip out. There’s a distillery here, too with a patio that looked fun, too.

The best burger I’ve had in Austin. You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. Fried quail sandwich, loaded sweet potato tots, duck tinga taco, classic nacho—all amazing. Plus you can’t beat the Desert Door atmosphere and cocktails.

This food truck is absolutely next level. We tried the antelope burger, delicious and melts in your mouth, the fried quail sandwich was perfectly crispy and tasted like thanksgiving, and the boar frito pie! The frito pie could use some jalapeños but was tasty overall.

The food is incredible. However Im giving this place 3 stars because it is way too expensive for what you get. One tiny taco is $8. Like I spent $30 on lunch and was hungry after. If you are at desert door and need food just eat here like you dont have a lot of options tbh.

Okay, so when you first read their menu if you aren’t a person who is adventurous with food you’ll have to take a breath and trust them. We got the queso, salsa and tostadas and mushroom quesadilla to start with with great flavors. Portion sizes are great! Love the option of ordering online while we are sitting drinking at Desert Door.

I had the burger and the sweet potato waffle fries. Let me just say that the waffle fries were damn good. Seasoned nicely, though very salty, but cooked perfectly. The problem? I ordered two portions for sharing. The amount of fries I got for what I paid (two orders +tip) was spectacularly ridiculous. They’re just waffle fries, so part of me feels like I shouldn’t be making a huge deal out of it. But that’s just how disappointed I was. These were seriously tiny portions for what I paid for.

We finally stopped by Desert Door to check out Jesse Griffiths’ new collab. Having frequented the distillery, we really liked what Eden West previously offered. With a high standard set and a slight deviation towards wildgame-centric fare, we were again pleased with this new venture! The nilgai burger was delicious, as was the quail sandwich, and the salad was wonderful to boot. As always, Desert Doors’ drinks were a fine pairing! We really look forward to trying more of the offerings at Lo Salvaje!

Got about 2oz of queso and salsa with chips for $12. Absolute let down on the pricing. Poblano salsa was smoky and that’s about it.

The burger was absolutely phenomenal (a term I never use). Likely the best burger in Austin. Highly, highly recommend. Will absolutely be coming back and telling everyone about it. Everything else was fantastic as well. I never post reviews…that is how great this burger was.
