My gf and I went to Locale Nutrition today. We were looking for a good nutritious meal replacement while in town. We were impressed with the wide variety of selection of shakes. So many flavors. It seemed too good to be true. We grabbed our shakes: Oreo Cheesecake and PB Oreo, about $20+ for both. But then my gf started to ask questions about the shakes and we started to realize this wasn’t exactly what we were looking for. The shakes consisted of water, protein powder and flavored syrups. We asked if any fruit was used at all or if it was available. Nothing. No options for real milk or milk alternative. These shakes are literally just water and flavoring. And you can tell by the taste. It’s not awful tasting and not necessarily “bad” for but it’s mostly just added protein and sugar. It feels like they overcharge for what it is. Nice staff, cool place but never been to a place that puts so little real ingredients into a “nutrition” shake.

Super friendly staff. If only the shakes and teas matched! While the small sample was pretty good, the more you drink the more the protein powder base overwhelmed all the other flavors, except the stevia. It was as though each ingredient started with sweetener then more was added in! Even the “unsweetened” tea was quite sweet (yes really!). Great place if you are a sugar fiend who doesn’t mind shakes with powder bases, but if you aren’t into diabetic comas I suggest trying somewhere else.
