I was treated to gumbo from Nita’s Gumbo and it was awesome! I decided to go and order more at a later date on my own. I bragged and took a friend along at the opening time posted on Google, which was hours wrong. We returned later, ordered gumbo as take out. We were disappointed, to say the least. Obviously I had been treated to the full order of the Signature Gumbo ($23.50), for the half order I ordered ($13.50), did not have scallops, jumbo shrimp, nor crabmeat, and very little andouille sausage, chicken, popcorn shrimp, and was mainly roux and rice. I will give them another chance and order something else. You can eat in also. However, to be fair, they did offer other creole dishes on their menu, and people were coming in steadily placing take out orders. You can get lobster, but only on the weekends. They also cater.

I wish the gumbo had more meat and this little cup of crab is ridiculous to me. I rather it be already in the bowl than to see how much crab you actually get. This is like one crab leg. However the gumbo did have a really good taste and the cornbread was very good.

I ordered gumbo wings. Not what I expected. There was only gumbo gravy drizzled on the top of the wings. The string beans were very cajun, a bit much. The Cajun wings were good.Im not sure if I like the concept of a concession stand in a sit down restaurant. The comedians were ok. There was a guy working there and he was great, professional and polite.

I took my daughter here for a father/daughter day on a Saturday, to my surprise there was a live band. A great live band at that. It was a bit crowded but only a 10 minute wait before we were seated. Disappointed there wasn’t a kids menu but there were other suitable options on the menu. I ordered the full signature and something called “gumbo wings” for my daughter. The food was good quality and fresh. The full signature was great and I couldn’t stop sharing my daughters “Gumbo wings”! I’ve never heard of these before but I have now. My daughter was very happy. Great day out
