They screwed up my order. They lost both my other friend’s order. They pretty much lost everyone’s order around me. My French fries were soggy and cold. The walleye tacos were flavorless. The Mac and cheese was disgusting and was like soup. The cheese was coagulated. The other Mac and cheese order was half the size of the first order. The hot dogs tasted like hot dogs. Excellent. Would highly recommend.

One of the best places for summer, especially the sunsets. Great place to meet up with someone over beer and/or some snacks. However, they don’t have a lot of options. On their menu they have a bunch of beers, but they had only 3 options available when I asked for. Also, they don’t just serve fries or chips, you have to buy something and the fries or chips come as a side dish. Overall, great place. Wish they had more food/drink options.

Update: Changed this review from a two star to a one star, after yet another painful experience, this time unfortunately bringing friends who all also shared it with me. 45 minutes in one line to get one beer for our group, at which point we all agreed to never spend a dime at this place ever again, and we have been going to Lake Harriet as a much better alternative.

I’ve never been more disappointed in writing a review before. Typically I’m full of enthusiasm because I want to share how much I love a restaurant or product. Or I’m full of anger and schadenfreude, eager to knock a sub-par business down a peg. But after eating at Lola last weekend, I was just sad.

Forgettable so I am writing this at the restaurant. Got the walleye sandwich and shrimp tacos.

The food was edible. But I wouldn’t recommend it to anybody. I got the shrimp entree and it tasted like a popcorn shrimp frozen dinner box. My friend got the “grilled” walleye dinner that looked like it was half steamed and full of bones. She also had the Mac and cheese side which looked disgusting with semi-melted cheese clumps.

Had a delicious fish dinner and enjoyed the outside dinning. Good food and staff was pleasant.

I tried Lola’s for the second time this past weekend. They seemed to be working out some kinks the first time I tried so I thought I’d give it another try. My first visit the food (veggie tacos) was good, but the service & wait time was disappointing. This time the service was much better, but the wait was still long. By the time I went to check on my food (chicken wings) it was cold, but I decided to give them another pass on that. Although the food was cold it was really tasty! I look forward to eating at Lola’s again, hot food hopefully. Overall, my experiences haven’t deterred me from going back. Looking forward to all the kinks getting worked out by my next visit.

Stopped by Lola’s on the Lake and tried the fried shrimp and fried walley with smoked macaroni and cheese, chips, coleslaw, and dinner roles. Everything seasoned to perfection. Not a terrible wait, I say about 10-15 min depending on order since its freshly cooked to order. While I waited, they had live jazz. I even bought the CD from the saxophonist. Highly recommended.
