To my surprise, this hotel restaurant was open during COVID-19. Granted this review is dated April 2021 which is a couple of months after the city had started its mass vaccination effort.

We stopped there after a work meeting at the Oakland Airport. We did not realize it was inside the Springhill Suites. We decided to go in anyway. There were too other tables occupied when we got there, and still it took the waiter, that was just hanging out, a long time to take our order. The food came out fast and it was good, we just had the hamburgers. I thought the charges were unreasonable; $4 for bacon and $2 for cheese on each hamburger. Should have just found another spot to eat lunch.

The steak looked better than it tasted. The potatoes were cool so the butter wouldn’t melt. The brocolli was good but the asparagus was half pithy. In their defense it’s their third day after opening. There was no waitress so orders were taken at the bar. The set up is as you see, a bit spartan so you have to ask for condiments.

We were on our way to another restaurant when we saw the sign for this one and decided to take a chance. We are glad we did. They have a nice selection of beer on draft, the Patriots preseason game was on the TV, and the bartenders were really friendly. We both got the lamb dinner which was very tasty. The lamb chops were cooked as requested, the potatoes were savory, and the seasonal vegetables were cooked just right. Will definitely come here again if we find ourselves staying over at the airport in the future.
